Abstract

The present invention relates to a bag for packaging bread and other foodstuffs, formed from two sheets of paper (1,2), of which a first sheet (1) is opaque and a second sheet (2) is transparent and allows seeing the packaged product through it. The first opaque sheet (1) has a general rectangular configuration and has folding strips on both sides delimited by respective longitudinal fold lines (3,4,5), being die-cut such that it provides a wide transverse notch (1a) on one of the ends, and a flap or flange (1b) in relation to the opposite end, whereas the second sheet (2), likewise with a rectangular configuration, made of a transparent material, is sized in order to be joined to the end longitudinal strips (3,4,5) of both sides of the second sheet (2) with the use of an adhesive, it is adhesively joined at one end to the flange or flap (1b) of the first sheet (1) in order to close that end of the bag, and has a portion on which adhesive (6) has been applied near the opposite end in order to close the opening of the bag by means of folding a transverse band over the other first sheet (1).

Description

    Object of the invention
  • The present invention relates to a bag for packaging bread, providing essential novel features and considerable advantages with regard to the means known and used for the same purposes in the current state of the art.
  • The invention more particularly proposes developing a bag obtained by means of joining and folding two different die-cut sheets of paper or the like, one of which is preferably transparent and the other of which is opaque, intended for preferably packaging bread or even other foodstuffs, and obtained by means of the mutual application of both sheets and folding over the premarked lines for that purpose to form a packaging container provided with an access opening which can be closed by means of folding a flange provided with means for keeping it in the closed position.
  • The application field of the invention is obviously comprised within the industrial sector aimed at manufacturing paper packages and bags or the like, and more particularly to those intended for packaging bread and other foodstuffs.
  • Background and Summary of the invention
  • The fact that bread loaves are usually arranged in drawers or on shelves in the sales points is generally known by all, each of said bread loaves being introduced inside an individual paper bag or the like with a size more or less adjusted to that of the bread loaf. The consumer picks the product up directly from the shelves, and transports it from the selling establishment to his or her home or place of consumption inside the paper bag in which it was purchased.
  • Although this form of presentation evidently provides a certain degree of hygiene and protection to the consumption product, it is also true that it has several drawbacks worthy of being taken into consideration, and which are essentially derived from the fact that the bags in which the product is presented are normally open, therefore they have an insufficient hygiene level, taking into account that, on one hand unwanted products can penetrate into the bag through the opening of the bag and be deposited on the bread or other consumption product, and on the other hand, a bag of this type does not prevent any consumer from having direct access to the consumption product, and from being able to improperly handle it with the risks and drawbacks involved.
  • Taking into account the drawbacks associated to bags for bread and the like currently used in the state of the art, the present invention has proposed as the main objective to provide a bag with which a suitable protection and hygiene level for bread or another product which is housed therein is ensured. This objective has been fully reached by means of the bag which will be the object of the description below, and the main features of which are included in the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • The bag for packaging bread is essentially formed from two flat sheets of paper or the like, advantageously die-cut according to the desired final appearance, one of which is transparent and the other of which is opaque. The application of one sheet on the other for obtaining the bag or package allows the bread or other food housed therein to be easily seen by the consumer through the closed area with the transparent sheet. The mentioned transparent sheet further incorporates, in the area of the opening, an adhesive means incorporated at the inner face, protected by means of a strip of plasticized paper or another easily removable material, located in a position opposite to a notch formed on the opposite edge provided by the opaque sheet, such that the folding of the upper band allows closing the opening by means of folding an upper transverse band, and fixing the adhesive means on the outer surface of said opposite opaque sheet. The opening of the bag can thus be simply closed with a simple folding operation after introducing the bread or product to be contained, thus providing a protection suitable for the packaged product and eliminating the possibility that a consumer can access and improperly handle said product.
  • Brief Description of the Drawings
  • These and other features and advantages of the invention will become evident from the following detailed description of 3. preferred embodiment, given only by way of an illustrative and non-limiting example with reference to the attached drawings in which:
    • Figure 1 is a planar plan depiction of the two sheets used for forming the bag of the invention;
    • Figure 2 is a slightly perspective view of the bag obtained from both sheets of Figure 1, and
    • Figures 3 and 4 show respective elevational views of the finished bag of Figure 3, as a closed bag and taken by each one of the respective faces of the bag.
    Description of a Preferred Embodiment
  • As has been previously mentioned, the detailed description of the preferred embodiment of the invention will be carried out below with the aid of the attached drawings, through which the same numerical references are used to designate identical or similar parts. First considering Figure 1, the planar depiction of two sheets of paper or the like can thus be observed, generally indicated by means of reference numbers 1 and 2, the die-cutting of which corresponds to a development such that it allows forming a bag for bread or other food after the application and connection by means of sticking one sheet on the other, as will be seen below.
  • Observing sheet 1, preferably made from an opaque sheet, it is seen that it corresponds to a general rectangular configuration, symmetrical with respect to the major axis, which sheet at one end shows a wide notch delimited by a transverse edge 1a, and at the opposite end has a flange or skirt 1b. On both sides and according to the longitudinal direction, the sheet shows the formation of fold lines 3, 4, 5 occupying a marginal band with a predetermined width.
  • The sheet 2 in turn has a plan rectangular configuration, is preferably transparent (a dotted line has been made on its surface in order to show such condition), and has the particularity of incorporating an adhesive means 6 incorporated in a centered position at one of its ends next to the corresponding transverse edge, this adhesive means having a protection 7 that can be easily removed when being used.
  • With both starting sheets 1, 2 configured as they are shown in Figure 1, it will be understood that the formation of a bag or package can be achieved in a very simple manner by merely applying one sheet on the other and connecting both by means of sticking them together. This situation is clearly shown in Figure 2, in which the bag has been obtained after folding the marginal bands of the sheet 1 delimited by said fold lines 3, 4, 5, placing the end most band 4a on top of the corresponding marginal area of the transparent sheet 2, by way of a flange for joining them by sticking them together. The projection 1b of the sheet 1 appears folded over itself, to be supported against the sheet 2 and close the bag at the inner end. In addition, the notch 1a makes a transverse band of the sheet 2 project out, which band will form the flange for closing the upper opening of the bag, whereas the successively folded marginal bands make up a formation on each side by way of an accordion, allowing the bag to be able to accept therein products of different thicknesses and sizes.
  • As has been previously said, the opening of the bag is closed by means of folding the transverse portion of the transparent sheet 2 exceeding the height of the edge 1a delimiting the notch of the sheet 1. This situation is shown in Figures 3 and 4, in which the appearance of the closed bag seen from both faces is shown. Figure 3 shows the opaque face of the bag, having been lowered by folding the upper projecting portion of sheet 2 over the mentioned sheet 1, the opening remaining closed by applying and sticking the adhesive means 6 on this opaque sheet, after removing the protection 7.
  • On the opposite face, (a position corresponding to Figure 4), the gap between both marginal sticking bands 4a is occupied oy the transparent sheet 2, such that the consumer can observe the content of the closed bag at all times, but without the possibility of handling the food contained therein.
  • It must be observed that incorporating the adhesive means connected to the transparent sheet 2, practically does not involve any delay or time investment as regards the productive process, given that removing the protector 7 and folding the upper band in order to close the opening is a very simple and quick operation which, however, ensures the maintenance of the assembly in hygienic conditions that are much more suitable for the type of products to which the bag developed by the invention is expected to be applied.
  • It is not considered necessary to make the content of this description more extensive so that a person skilled in the art can understand its scope and the advantages derived from the invention, as well as develop and carry out the object thereof.
  • Nevertheless it must be understood that the invention has been described according to a preferred embodiment thereof, therefore modifications can be made without involving any alteration of the essence of said invention, such variations being able to especially affect the shape, the size and/or the materials for manufacturing the different components forming the assembly.
