The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part' of the sameA To all whom it may concern.:
Be it known that I, AUGUST HERZOG, of the. city of New York, in the county and State of" `New York, have invented a; new and improved lVood and Rubber Cover;.aud I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part ot' this specication. f

The object of this invention is to make a wood and rubber cover which can be used and rolled up on either side, and cleaned by water.
The nature of my invention consists. in-
First, I connect strips of wood by running India rubbel through holes through the strips of wood, as shown at a, which holes maybe either grooved, bored, or mortised.
Second, I fasten the India rubber by driving nails, or rivets, 0r screws, of wood or of metal, perpendicular through the strips of wood and the India rubber,

rllhird, if the India rubber does not fill the entire the end strips, I fasten thereto a'strip of Wood, or of metal, or of some other suitable material,- as shown at (l.
My improved wood and rubber cover is designed to -be used as an ornament, and to alleviate the wear and tear of household articles, furniture, floors, and of all things'which will last longer if protected therewith.
IVhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is l The construction of a wood and India-rubbercover, as herein described, which can be used and rolled up on either side, and cleaned by water.
