Description
MPETERS. PHOTOALATHOGRAPHER. WASHINGTON D C i tanned gaat @anni otitis.
i To all whom it may concern:
wiLLIANr B. sNYDER., on BEIDGEPOBT, CONNECTICUT, AssIeNon To HIMsELr, JAMES E. DEWHUEST, AND ROBERT HUBBAED, or SAME PLACE.
Letters Patent No. 102,985, dated May 10, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT IN VAG-INAIL SYRING-ES.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the saine.
' Be it known that I, WILLIAM B. SNYDEE, of Bridgei port, in the county of Fairfield and State of ,Connecthem, connected with a syringe and perforated not only at their ends' but on the inner sides of the tubes.
In the accompanying drawings which show one convenient way of carrying out my invention, I 'have shown' a neck, A, provided witha screw-head, a., by which it may be attached to a proper syringe or in-l jector.
From this neck tubes I3 proceed a short distance parallel to each other, to form a shank or handle for the instrument, to allow it fthe requisite degree of penetration.
The tubes are then curved outward a short distance as at b, and again bent inward and united vat their ends.
Holes c are bored into the tubes on their outer and inner sides, Vas shown in the drawings.
In operation the tube is inserted in the vagina, and the medicine injected through the tubes. The holes cause it to escape in jets into and across the space inclosed between the tubes, and thus insures its thorough application.
I am aware that a vaginal syringe has been used in which a cylinder of wires iuclosed a tube, having a rose at one end, and disclaim. such a device.
By my improvement I dispense with a central tube, and make the cage or .tubes the medium through which the fluid is injected.
I claim- A vaginal syringe composed of perforated tubes constructed and combined substantially as hereilibefore set forth, so as to incluse a space into whichthe fluid is injected.
Also, the combination of the screw-head, the neck, and the perforated tubes, all these parts being lcon structed to operate in combination, as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name..
WILLIAM B. VSNY DER. Witnesses:
A. R. LACEY, F. HURD.
