- To all-whom it may concern Be it known that we, Jassn' C. Moona, lVILmAM A. Moons, and For WAnE,citizens of the United States, and residents of Indianapolis, county of Marion, and State of 1 Indiana, hare invented a certain new and useful Cabinet-Drawer Construction; and we do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being'had to the accompanying drawings, in which like letters refer to like parts. The object of this invention is to provide an improved means for mounting drawers or other movable parts in cabinets and the .like, wherein the rear portion of the drawer or other movable part is slidably suspended on a rod extending over the drawer or other movable part by a simple means attached to the rear wall of the drawer or other movable part and slidable on the rod and arranged so that said connectionis readily adjustable in order to give the rear end of the drawer or other movable part proper relation and centering. While a drawer is herein set forthparticularly, the invention may be employed in connection with'doors or other movable parts of book cases and other cabinets. i 4.

The chief feature of the invention consists in adjustably connecting centrally to the rear wall of the drawer, or other movable part, means slidable on a rod for both guiding. and supporting the drawer, thus dispensing with all cleats and complex constructions of every kind. One of the chief objects of the invention is simplicity of construction and operation. Y

Another feature of the invention consists in making a connection between the drawer and guide rod adjustable in the manner above indicated so that the drawer can be drawn out entirely to the front and will not bind with the drawer opening in the front wall of the cabinet, that is, not bind either the bottom or the side walls thereof, and hence the adjustment is such as to enable one to vertically adjust the rear end of the drawer and also to laterally adjust the same to suit the drawer opening in the front .wall of the cabinet.

The full nature of the invention will be understood from the accompanying drawgs and the following description and claims.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a vertical longitudinal section through a cabinet having two drawers, showing the drawer closed. Fig. 2 is a perspective vlewof a portion of the guide rod and the rearof the connecting plate thereon. Fig. 3 is a vertical section through a portion of the rear part of the drawer and the connection between the drawer and the guide rod, parts being broken away. Fig. 4 is a horizontal section through a part of the drawer on the line H of Fig. 3.

There is shown herein a cabinet 10 having in its front wall drawer openings 11 for drawers 12. The particular construction of these parts is immaterial to this invention.

- The particular construction shown herein to obtain the best adjustment of the connection between the guide rod and the drawer, consists of .forming the plate 16 with a wide slot 18 and clamping it to a plate 20 which is secured to the rear wall of the drawer by bolts 21. The clamping is efiected by a clamping bolt 22 which screws into the plate 20 and projects through the slot 18 and through a wide washer 23 and said washer ide rod extends.
