JOSEPH J. TAYLOR, OF RICHMOND, VERMONT.
TOOTH-BRUSH HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 29, 1917.
Application filed April 26, 1916. Serial No. 93,655.
To all whom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, JOSEPH J. TAYLOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Richmond, in the county of Chittenden and State of Vermont, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tooth-Brush Holders; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to tooth-brush holders.
The object of this invention is to improve the construction of tooth-brush holders, and to provide an inexpensive structure of this character in which the holder is rotatably and removably mounted upon a standard and has a plurality of tubes removably mounted therein.
A further object of this invention is to provide a brush-holder which is particularly adapted to be used in bath rooms and lavatories, and the tubes and brushes so numbered that the confusing and the using of wronof brushes eliminated.
A iurther object of this invention is to provide a tooth-brush holder of this character which will be simple, practical, and a comparatively inexpensive structure, and
has a disk that is so arranged to hold a plurality of tubes which can be readily removed and washed and replaced, and the tubes are also provided with apertures which permit the free circulation of air therethrough, and quickly dry the bristles of the brushes placed therein.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, and novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claim hereto appended.
In the drawings:
Figure l is a side elevation of my improved tooth-brush holder made in accordance with my invention,
Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view of the same,
Fig. 3 is a top plan view with the tubes removed, and
Fig. 4 is a tubes.
Like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings. f
perspective view of one of the support or wall and Referring to the drawings, l designates the circular attaching plate which has a pair of spaced alinedopenings 2 therein, which openings are arranged adjacent the center of said plate,.and are adapted to receive screws or other suitable fasteners 3 therein, securing the plate to a support designated a in Fig. l of the drawings. The horizontal arm 5 is formed integral with said plate as 6, or the same may be screw-threadedly fitted therein, the outer end of said arm is bent upwardly forming a vertical standard 7, which is adapted to removably support a tube carrying disk 8.
The tube carrying disk 8 is provided with a plurality of annularly arranged spaced openings 9, which openings are adapted to removably support the brush holding tubes l0, which will be more fully described as the description proceeds.
A cap l1 is formed centrally on one face of said disk and is provided with a vertical bore l2 adapted to loosely receive the upper end of the standard 7 therein, to permit the ready removal and rotation of the disk thereon.
The tubes 10 have their upper ends open, and rolled outwardly as at 13 to form retaining langes which engage the disk to hold the tubes therein.
The bottom of said tubes are rounded as at 14 and are provided with central openings 15 which permit the free circulation of air through the tubes to dry the bristles of the brushes placed therein.
In use: the attaching plate is secured to a the disk is simply mounted on the upper end of the standard and the tubes are placed in the disk as shown in the drawings, and it can be stated that the tubes and brushes can be numbered so that confusion as to the proper brush A will be entirely eliminated.
It being understood that various changes may be made in the details of construction, without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claim.
What is claimed is:
A tooth brush holder comprising a bracket, having a horizontal arm and vertical arm, a circular attaching plate secured to the end of the horizontal arm and adapted to secure the same to a support, a disk provided centrally with an opening, a cap having its end secured in the opening, said cap provided with a vertically inwardly eX- rolled outwardly and adapted to engage the tending bore adapted to receive the upper upper surface of the disk to prevent the end of the vertical standard therein, said same from being accidentally displaced cap permitting the disk to be freely rotated therefrom.
