Be it known that I, WINIFRED S. FOSTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented new and useful Improvements in Candy-Packages, of which the following is a specifica- Jtion.

The present invention relates to an improvement in candy packages, the object of the invention being to provide a package of a pleasing and attractive form, which will securely hold candy, and in whiehpthe candy will be visible from the outside of the packave.

bIn the accompanying drawing, Figure 1 is a front view of the package; Fig. 2 is a cross section thereof on the line 2-2 of Fig. l.

Referring to the drawing, l, 2 indicate respectively the front and rear sides of the package, formed of transparent material 3. I have found as suitable for this purpose the fabric which is known as tarlatan, a fine, open, transparent-muslin. Said front and back are cut out so as to represent, when jointed together, the body and limbs of an animate object, preferably of the human figure. They are secured together at their edges preferably by metallic clips 4, any one of which can be easily detached to permit the edges to be separated to obtain access to the interior for the purpose of removing the candy and can easily be again replaced in position to secure said edges and close up the opening thus made. While the body portion of the figure contains candy 6 of any size or shape, I preferably inclose in the limb portions thereof sticks 7 of candy so as to more fully carry out the idea of representing the human body.

I preferably provide an approximately correct representation of thehead of the figure, printed or otherwise formed on a sheet 8 of paper, card-board, or the like, the neck and bust portion thereof being inserted between the front and rear sides of the pack-k age and fastened to the package by the clips i and by a paper fastener 9 inserted through the front and rear sides l, 2 and through the piece 8 of paper.

While my invention has been particularly devised as a means for containing candy, nuts or other edibles, it is by no means limited thereto, but" may be used for containing other objects whichit is desired to render visible while contained in a package.

An inferior form of my invention may be obtained by using non-transparent or partly transparent material.

I claim A package for candy and the like comprising sheets of transparent material, quickly detachable and replaceable fastening devices for fastening together the edges of said sheets, said sheets when so fastened being in the form constituting a representation of an animated figure and a representation of the head of the figure secured to one of said sheets.
