To all whom 15 may concern:
Be it known that 1, HART TV. MARCELLUS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county'of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful tmprovements in Hot-Water Boots, of which the following is a specification.
rThis invention relates vto water bandages and more particularly to a hot water boot for use in applying heat to the feet of persons desiring hot applications for treating colds, rheumatism and other similar bodily ailments which require the feet to be kept warm in order that they may be expeditiously cured of the particular ailment.
@ne of the objects of the invention is to provide a hot water boot of this character that includes a casing for the foot constructed to snugly lit the same so that air is excluded from the space between the foot and the foot casing thus assuring proper application of the heat from the hot water.
Another object of the invention is to provide a foot casing enveloped by a water casing, the latter being spaced from the foot casing to provide a water compartment whereby the hot water may contact with the foot casing on comparatively all of its surfaces.
Another object of the invention is to provide a hot water boot of this character that is constructed to permit the person using the device to walk about if desired without material inconvenience being encountered by reason of the devices on the feet.
The above and additional objects are accomplished by such means as are illustrated in the preferredl embodiment and in the accompanying drawings, wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views., in which: l

Referring to .the drawing'9 wherein is illustrated the preferred form of my invention, and in which like numerals of reference indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views, the foot casing 1 is constructed to snugly t the human foot and7 therefore, the casing includes the toe portion 2? the heel portion 3 and the leg portion 4f.
1t is to be noted that the bottom of the foot casing is raised to conform to the instep thereby providing an arch 5 snugly fitting the arch of the foot. 'This foot casing is preferably constructed from rubber similar to the material commonly employed in the construction of het water bottles and the like.
A water casing 6 is constructed to entirely envelop the foot casing 1 and, the water casing is considerably larger than the foot casing thus providing a water compartment 7 between the proximate walls of the casing. The upper end of the leg portion i of the foot casing is flared outwardly for the purpose of permitting the insertion of the foot, and also to permit the proper fit around the leg and ankle of the person wearing the device. rThe upper marginal edge of the water casing 6 is fastened to the upper marginal edge of the leg portion 4 by vulcanizing the two portions together 1n the manner common to similar devices in this art. rThe heel portion 3 and the bottom of the toe portion 2 are also Vulcanized to the corresponding portions of the water casing as clearly shown at 8 and 9 in Fig. 1 of the drawing. In proximity to the instep of the foot casing, the two casings are also vulcanized together as indicated at 10. This construction provides a fastening element at certain pre-determined points for the purpose of maintaining the walls of the casing in proper spaced Arelation and to prevent the water casing from bulging and projecting outwardly from the foot casing when the water casing is filled with hot water.
The toe portion of the water casing is provided with an inlet opening having a nipple 11 arranged therein for receiving a cap 12 which may be removed for the purpose of lling the casing with hot water.
The top of the casing is provided with straps 13 and 14C, the strap 14 having a buckle 15 for the reception of the end of the strap 1? whereby the straps may be tightly drawn together for snugly xing the top of the boot to the leg of the wearer.
By virtue of the vulcanized portions 8, 9 and 10, the wearer may conveniently walk about while the device is attached to his foot and no danger of bursting the water casing will be occasioned. At the same time9 the arch 5 will permit the hot water to be circulated beneath the foot and on all sides of the samersince, by referring to Fig. 3, it will be noted that the water compartment is extended completely around the sides of the foot casin From tEe foregoing it will be observed vthat a very simple-and durable water bandage has 4been provided, the details of which embody the preferred form. I desire it to be understood, however, that slight changes inthe minor details of construction may be made without departing from the spirlt of the invention or the scope of the claims hereunto appended. v
I claim: v
1. A hot water boot comrising a foot casing sha ed to conform to t e -human foot and 1nc1u ing a toe portion, heel portion and leg portion, a water casing enveloping the foot casing and having its upper marginal edge merging into the edge of the foot casing and permanentlyr attached thereto, the lheel portion and toe portion of the foot casing being permanently xed to the said 1 casing water casing, the instep portions of the two casings being also `permanently joined together.
2. A hot water boot comprising a foot sha ed to conform to the human foot and inclu ing 'a toe portion, heel portion and leg portion, a water casing enveloping .the foot casing, the heel portion and a toe portion of the foot casing being permanently fixed tothe said water casing.
