To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I. Anonrn C. BECKER, a citizen of the United, States. residing at Oakville, in the county of Litchfield and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Flash-Light Cases; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exactdescription of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this application, and represent, in

My invention relates to an improved flashlight case, the object being to furnish the removable cap applied to the inner end of the case with a glazed receptacle for the reception of some feature of utility or amusement, such as a game, a photograph, or a compass.

With these ends in view, my invention consists in a flash-light case having ahollow body provided at its outer end with a lamp, and at its inner end with a removable cap containing a glazed receptacle.

My invention further consists in a flashlight case having certain details of construction as will be hereinafter described and particularly recited in the claims. a

In carrying out my invention as herein shown, I locate a shallow, circular recepta'cle-shell 2 within the removable screw-cap 3 provided for the inner end of the tubular body 4 of the case. The opposite end of the said body is furnished with a removable screw-cap 5 mounting an ordinary bulls-eye 6 and made removable for access to the ordinary tiny incandescent lamp which is not shown. The body 4 receives a removable cylindrical battery 7 normally held in contact with the said lamp by means of a spiral battery-spring 8 the outer end of which rests upon the bottom of the receptacle-shell 2 aforesaid. The inner portion of the removable cap 3 is formed with rolled-in threads 9 adapted to engage with corresponding rolled-in threads 10 in the outer portion of a band or collar 11 fixed to the inner end of the body 6. The outer end of the shell 2 is formed with an inwardly turned bearing-flange 12 while the cap 3 is formed with a similar inwardly turned flange 13, the glass 14 by means of which the shell 2 is glazed being pinched between these two flanges.

As herein shown. the bottom of the receptacle-shell 2 is formed with five shallow hemispherical pockets 15 symmetrically arranged and designed to receive the same number of balls 16 confined in the receptacle by the glass 14:. T hese depressions and balls constitute a game, the object of which is to simultaneously seat the several balls in the several pockets 15. this achievement requiring patience and a steady hand. The game is played by holding the flash-light in a vertical position and rocking it ever so slightly on its vertical axis.

In place of this ball-gamc, a photograph might be located within the receptacle, .or a compass or some other corresponding use of it might be made. It will be observed that the bottom of the receptacle forms a support for the spring 8 which must be re moved at the time the cap 3 is removed for the removal and replacement of the battery 7;
