To ZZ whom t may] concern Be it known that l, FERDINAND l/l Klauen,
of San Francisco, California, have invented certain new and useful improvements in Turbine Deep-Nell Pumps, whereof the following is a. specification.
My invention. relates to pumps in general, butl more particularly those onf the turbine type, usually employed for pumping Water or other liquid in deepI Wells.
'Ilhe objects of the invention are, first, to provide .means for packing, holdingand removing the pump casing*- 'rom the Well; second, to provide a sectional rot-ating shaft for the impeller thereof and means for holding Ithe sections together; third, to `lreep the shaft in perfect alinement Within the Well casing; fourth, to provide means for oiling the bearings of said shaft and to remove the Waste oil therefrom, aiuhfiithmieans Where-V hy the Weight of the shaft is 'carried by the impeller when in operation;aand,sixth, to use Ithe Well casing as a discharge pipe.
lll/'ith these objects in View my invention consists in the novel parts, combinations and arrangements eet forth the following specification, particularly pointed out in the claims at the end hereof,- end illustrated in the accompanying two sheets of drawings, forming a part ol1 this application, in which- 4 Figure l is avertical central section of bhe upper part of a'well easing, also a sec- 'tion of the upper arrangement of my device, particularly showing the sectional impeller shfaiit, one of its guide bearings and oiling device, also means for remmfingthe Waste oil and the pump easing.

l/Vithin the Well is the pump casing, 5, which may be arranged, il' desired, in a plurality of sections, as shown in Fig. 6, and 6 is the impeller therein provided with the sectional driving shaft 7, secured at the upper end of the Well by means of a central bearing, 8, and hraclret, 9, which are mount ed upon the discharge end of the Well casing.
On the driving shaft is acollar, l0, which rests upon a bracket, 9, and supports the shaft thereon, when in an inoperative posi tion and 1l is a pulley secured to the shaft hy which the motive poweris transmitted. i
The sections of the driving shaft are united together by coupling, l2, which forms the holding means and secured tlfiereon by means ol. headless set screws, i3, havinT a square or other shaped aperture for driving same in position, es shown in 3, and 5.

shown in il and 7, and its upper end is secured te afdownward cone-shaped projec-y tion, 16, of the bearing, 8, shown in Fig 1, and forms the holdingv means for the pump casing.
The number of seetiops of the pipe depend on the deepness of the i rell, or the length den sii-ed, and these sections are secured together by means of blocks, 17, and screw threaded sleeves, 18 engaging the ends ofthe sections and the blocks andv form at the same time gli guides for the driving shaft, 7, through.
