HAIRFCLEANING DEVICE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 1, 1919.
Application filed February 15, 1919. Serial No. 277,199.
\ erence being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in hair cleaning appliance and consists of a simple and efiicient device of this character having various details of construction combination and arrangement of parts, which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
I illustrate my invention inthe accompanying drawings which. with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this application, and in which:
Figure l is a vertical sectional view, parts bein g'shown in elevation, and
Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail View in vertical section showing the valve passageway and connections therewith.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter:
' A designates a casing adapted to contain a motor B having a fan C fixed to the shaft C thereof, said fan being adapted to rotate in a horizontal lane within a suitable housmg. Leading rom the latter is a pipe D having a nipple D to which the flexible pipe E is connected, and which latter is connected to a hollow handle F having a comb F at one end. Said comb is provided with periforations H and through which air may be drawn, and I designate teeth of the comb. On of the branching passageways of the fan has nipple connection with a pipe 0, which in turn is connected to a hollow handle N i with a head N having perforations therein and which is adapted to be used for drying the hair, by permitting a blast of air to be blown through said perforations N. A double valve Q is mounted in the branching pipe 0 and may be shut off when desired, and R designates a receptacle at the end of a branching passageway T leading from the fan casing. Said valve Q extends through the pipe T and is provided with two oppositely disposed passageways Q and Q in order that the pipe T may be shut off when the pipe 0 is open and vice versa.
Electrical wires W connect with the motor and afford means for supplying current to drive the latter.
In operation, when it is desired to utilize the comb, the fan is set in motion and when the comb is in use the air may be drawn through passageways, drawing the dandruff and which may be deposited in the receptacle R at the end of the branching passageway T, the valve Q being closed. When the drier is used the valve Q may be opened and the valve in the passageway T closed.
What I claim to be new is:
A hair cleaning apparatus, comprising a casing, a motor, a vertically disposed shaft passageways and a receptacle with the other adapted to receive dandruff.
In testimony whereof I hereunto afiiX my slgnature 1n presence of two witnesses.
ANTONIO DI SALVIO.
