SEPARATOR.
APPLICATION FILED MAY 10, 1920.
Patemw Mam 29, 119210 /o 7 00 :/J. 0/ f g 5% RM or container, as provided by the assembled ally separated from the fuel proper -and collected at the bottom. portion of the container. When it is desired to drain out the matter collected within the container, the plug'24 is removed and the pet cock 22 opened. Normally the pet cook 22 closed as is the vent opening 23.
Disposed over the inner or entrance end of the pipe or stem 16 is a screening element 25, preferably asheet of gauze or screen of a relatively fine mesh. Thisv screening element serves to prevent any flat substances from passing down through the pipe or stem 16 into the carbureter.
From the foregoing description it is thought to be'obvious that a separator con structed in accordance with my invention is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled and operated, and it will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification with alined openings, a stem extending-v through the openings of said heads and through the body, members threaded upon the opposite end portions of the stem andgjn gaging the outer surfaces of the headsftomaintain the heads and body in assembled relation, said, stem having a. bore open at one end of the stem and in communication with the container adjacent the opposite end of the stem, the last named end of the stem being closed and a discharge pipe extending Within the container and in communication therewith at a point remote from the point of communication between said chamber and the bore of the stem, the/threaded member engaging the end of the stem through which said bore opens, constituting a coupling adapted for the reception of a feed conduit. I
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature.
