To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, RoY HERBERT HOLMES,

a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Atlanta, in the county of Fulton and State of Georgia, have invented certa n new and useful Improvements in Combination Baby Chairs and Cribs, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to an improved baby chair, and more particularly to an 1mroved combination baby chair and crib or Bed adapted for use either outdoors or indoors and desi nod to be readily converted to different positions for use as a OIlb or bed or as a chair or seat, as stated.

A further object of the invention is to provide an improved support or frame for-suspending the combination chair and crib proper or receptacle by which the latter may be formed, which may be compactly folded for shipment or transportation; so that the same maybe carried from place to place, the same being adapted to be accommodated in a trunk or other apparel containing case if desired, without occupying a large amount of space.

A further object of the invention is to provide a combination baby chair and crib which may be suspended at any convenient place other than by means of the frame above referred to, and which embodies a simple, light and collapsible frame adapted to be readily changed from one position to the other and which will form a very comfortable bed or crib when extended, and when folded or collapsed to the position of a seat or chair, will by reason of the construction thereof, positively retain the child or infant in a comfortable position and against falling out, the complete device producing a silent nurse so to speak.

Other and further objects of my invention will become readily apparent to persons skilled in the art, from a consideration of the following description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a side elevation of the device in position for use as a crib or bed,

In view of the foregoing, it'is thought that the'use of the device will be readily understood and in view of the-simplicity and prac-' tical value, that it will readily commend itself to use.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim is l. A combination baby chair and crib comprising a supporting frame having a head plate, hangers suspended therefrom and a basket at the lower ends of the hangers and foldable to form a seat, said basket having means to connect the hangers thereto interchangeably at one end and intermediately thereof at the sides.

2. In a combination baby chair and crib, a frame comprising a head plate, legs hinged thereto and adapted to extend outwardly and downwardly in'divergent relation in opposite positions, a hanger member carried by the head and extending downwardly and centrally therefrom, flexible strapshaving a loop engaged with said hangers, and a foldable basket engageable with the lower ends of the straps and having a frame cpmprising jointed sections adapted to be folded one upon the other to form an open ended seat, and means for closing the end of said seat and provide leg openings for the -occu pant.

3. In a device of the class described, a foldable frame comprising a top plate, struts hinged thereto at diametrically opposite points and comprising hinged sections, said sections being adapted to be folded upon themselves toward said top plate, and a suspension member secured centrally to the top plate and accommodated between said struts.

In a device of the class described, a foldable frame comprising a top plate, struts hinged thereto at diametrically opposite points and comprising hinged sections, said sections being adapted to be folded upon themselves toward said top plate, a suspension member secured centrally to the top plate and accommodated between said struts when folded, straps suspended from said suspension member, and a combined crib and chair engageable by the lower ends thereof, and comprising a frame consisting of pivoted U-shaped sections, means at the sides of said sections to hold the same rigidly in coextensive or folded position and a flexible receptacle-like body attached to the frame and including a bib fastened to the bottom thereof and designed to close one end of the same when folded and to produce leg openings at the opposite sides of the bib,

said bib having means for securing the same against the sides of the receptacle.

5. 6. In a baby tender of the class described,

a frame having opposed pairs of legs, a head plate to which said legs areconnected at the upper ends thereof and provided with a suspending member at the bottom thereof, said legs extending outwardly and bracing the head infixed position upon a support, hangers carried by said suspending member and arranged in opposed pairs, a convertible seat and crib device carried at the lower end thereof, said device having a frame and a cloth receptacle secured thereto, and cooperative means between the hangers and the frame for detachably supporting said device in either position.

7. The combination with a supporting frame and suspending straps hung centrally therefrom, said frame being relatlvely small at the top and enlarged toward the lower end thereof or bottom, and a convertible bed and chair for engagement ,with the lower ends of the straps, said convertible device comprising a rectangular frame consisting .of U-sha-ped sections having their leg portions-disposed in overlapping relation and pivotall leg portions for liracing the sections in ex tended position in alinement with each other or folded one within the other to form a bed' or chair as stated, said frame when folded being open at one end, a basket-like member secured tothe frame and formed of flexible material so that one end may fit within the other in an inverted position for use as a chair and to form a receptacle closed on all sides except the top when the frame is open.

8.
