' F. KROCH FLEXIBLE TUBE FOR CCNDUC'LING A COOLING FLUID BETWEEN TWO REFRIGERATOR VATS F11 July 3. 192a Iii/1111114 IIIIIIIII/III/IA Patented Dec. 4, 1923.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRITZ KBOCH, OF LEIPZIG, GERMANY.
FLEXIBLE TUBE FOR CONDUCTING A COOLING FLUID BETWEEN TN'O REFRIGERATOR VATS.
Application filed July 3, 1922.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRITZ KnooH, a citizen of the German Republic, residing at Leipzig, Germany, have invented certain 5 new and useful Improvements in a Flexible Tube for Conducting a Cooling Fluid Between Two Refrigerator Vats, of which the following is a specification.
This invention has for its object to improve the flexible tube connection for conducting a cooling or other fluid bet-ween two receptacles, for instance refrigerator vats. According to the invention a leather bellows, which forms the flexible connecting tube, is
enclosed by one or more canvas protecting envelopes which form an air insulation there between, and vertical partitions of flexible material are arranged extending from the outer surface of the bellows to the outer wall of the envelopes for supportin the protecting envelopes and for subdividing them into separate compartments.
The invention will be best understood: from a consideration of the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, with the understand ing that while on the drawings one embodiment of the invention is disclosed, the in vention is not confined to any strict conformity with the showing of the drawings, but may be embodied: in any manner which does not make a material departure from the salient features of the invention.
Fig. l is a vertical section through a portion of the bellows and covering.
Fig. 2 shows in elevation partly in section the entire bellows with its covering.
Serial No. 572,393.
a designates the upper wall (of leather) of the bellows, in the interior A of which the fluid flows in the direction of the arrow. 0 are supporting rods encircling the bellows and fixed to the same. On these rods 0 there are mounted vertical partitions d of flexible material, for instance of leather, to which the canvas protecting envelopes s are attached. In this manner compartments 7) are produced.
It is evident that the canvas protecting envelopes s participate in all movements of the leather bellows a, an air insulation being formed by said protecting envelopes. Besides the vertical partitions d arranged in a plane perpendicular to the direction of movement, partitions may be further used which stand perpendicular or at an angle to the partitions (5 so that a very extensive subdivision of the air compartments is ensured.
I claim 7 An improved flexible tube for conducting a cooling fluid between two refrigerator vats comprising in combination with a leather bellows, one or more canvas protecting envelopes enclosing the said bellows and rornn ing an air insulation there between, and ver-. tical partitions of flexible material extending from the outer surface of the bellows to the outer wall of the envelopes for support ingthe protecting envelopes and subdividing them into separate compartments.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRITZ KROCH. Witnesses:
EMORY H. Lorin, MARGARET L. MENZEL.
