Be it known that I, Isernia N. ZELLER, a

citizen of the United States, and a resident.

of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Saet -Razor-Blade Packages, of which the following is a specification.

'Ihe object of this invention is to rovide a safety razor blade package for olding one or more blades securely, with the cutting edges protected, and conveniently disposed so that a blade may be easily removed when re uired.

nother and important object of the invention isto protect the blade airtightly so as to reserve it in a sanitary condition.

An a further object of the invention is to provide a holder for one or more safety razor blades which comprises an air exclu in substance in which each blade is embe ded and which is further utilized to Secure the parts of the holder together.

Referring to the drawings the invention comprises a holder which consists of two complementary strips 10 and 11 adhesively secured together with one orv more blades 12 embedded in the adhesive 13 between the strips. I prefer to provide a tongue on one strip to project beyond the end edge of the other strlp as' indicated at 14 in Fig. 1, or beyond the side edge of the other strip as indicated at 15 in Fig. 2. In Fig, 7- I have shown another embodiment of the invention adapted for a style of blade 19 having one edge enclosed in a protecting frame 20.y In this embodiment the blades are arranged end to end in more or less close proximity and the strips 21, 22 enclose that part of the blade only below the frameY 20, which is sufficient for ordinary purposes because the operative part of the blade is enclosed and protected. This construction presents the additional advanta that any one of the blades can be readi y removed by' grasping its frame and withdrawing it from the holder. I may provide one of' the strips in the frame illus- Y case since the cuttlng edges of the blade are wholly enclosed and protected. If the.

package contains only one blade access thereto can be easily obtained by se arating the strips and for this urpose prefer to `extend one strip-beyon the edge of the other to form a tongue, as heretofore described, to facilitate the separation of the strips which can be done by ulling one stri olf the other. scored line if desired. ln the construction of Fig. 2 the whole section enclosing the blade tobe used is preferably torn oil' and se the blade so that it can be removed or use. Inlthe construction of Figs. 7-9 the blades are preferably taken out one 'at a timewhile the holder remains substantially intact, but, if desired, one strip may be removed from the holder, one section at a time, as previously described.

The invention provides a neat, compact and convenient package for safety razor4 blades in which the blades will be kept ina perfectly sanitary condition,-protected from exposure tothe atmosphere and so arranged that they will not cause accidental injury. The construction is such that one of the blades can be easily removed for use without disturbing the remainder of the holder and I am aware that changes in the form and arrangement of parts of my invention may be made without departing from the spirit or sacrificing its advantages and I reserve the right to make all such changes as fairly fall within the scope of the following claims:

adhesive material between the strips securing them together, and a blade embedded in said adhesive material.

2. A safety razor blade package comprising two strips arranged one upon the other, means for securing the strips together at and adjacent the edges thereof, and a protective material arranged between the strips and withinA said secured edges and having a blade embedded therein.

3. A safety razor blade package comprising two detached strip-s arranged one upon the other and each strip having its marginal portions adhesively secured to the marginal portions of the other strip, one of said strips having a tongue projecting beyond the edge of the other strip, and a blade held in place between the strips by the adhesive.

4E. A safety razor blade package comprising two strips, a coating of parailin between the strips for securing them together, and a blade embedded in the paraihn.

A safety razor blade package comprising two strips arranged one upon the other, one strip projecting beyond the edge of the other to form a tongue, one of said strips being scored at intervals, a coating o-f parafiin between the strips to, secure'them together, and blades spaced apart and embedded in the paraiiin in the sections formed by the scored lines.

A safety razor blade package comprising two detached strips arranged one upon the other and each strip having its marginal portions adhesively secured to the marginal portions of the other strip, a blade arranged between the strips and held in place by the adhesive, and means on one of the strips to facilitate separation of the strips for eX- posing the blade.

7. A safety razor blade package comprising two detached strips arranged one upon the other and adhesively secured together, a blade arranged between the strips, and a tongue on each strip projecting beyond the l0 the strips adhesive rto facilitate separation of the strips f for exposing the blade.

8. A safety razor blade package comprising a plurality of safety razor blades, a

9. A safety razor blade package comprising a plurality of safety razor blades, a stnp, a second strip and a layer of adhesive interposed between the strips of a thickness exceeding the thickness of a. razor blade, the

razor blades being entirely embedded in the adhesive.

10. A safety razor blade package comprising a. pluralallyn of safety razor blades, a layer of par thickness of a razor blade,` the blades being entirely embedded in the paran, and means exceeding in thickness the comprising a stripV for packaging the layer of parain.
