Be it known that I, WILLIAM W. Censura', a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Brooklyn, Kings County, State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Game Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements iny game apparatus one of the objects being to provide a game board arranged for the rolling of spheres or balls into compartments or stalls, each one of which represents a certain value. rThe game is played with the aid of a sphere or ball which is directed toward a selected compartment by a player, the board being slightly tilted to cause the ball to roll by gravity longtudinally thereof.

One of the main objects of my invention is to provide means whereby all the players will start with an equal advantage, that is to say, I provide a guard positioned to prevent a player from guiding a ball by moving his arm ahead of the foul line represented by the guard referred to. The object of the guard is to prevent a player from moving the arm, which guides a ball ahead of a foul line. By this means all players have an equal chance. Other features of improvement will hereinafter appear.

I will now proceed to describe my -invention in detail, the novel features of which I will point out in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, wherein Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an embodiment of my invention, broken away;

Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view, also broken away, on a reduced scale; and

Fig. 3 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional view.

My improved game apparatus is comprised of a bottom board 7 having sides 8 and end members 9 and 10. The board 7 will be relatively long and when set up for use, slightly inclined downwardly, as indicated in Fig. 2. At one end of the board and extending from the end flange 9 are a plurality of partitions 10B, 11, 12, 13 and 14 forming compartments 15, in this instance, six. In practice, I will use more than six compartments, the six herein illustrated being indicated to convey the idea that the bord is provided with compartments at one en Adjacent the end wall 10, I place a guard or foul stop 1,6, said. guard or stop being lseparated from the end wall 10 just enough to provide space 17 into which a hand can be inserted` to grasp a sphere-or ball 18. Adjacent the end wall 10, I place a batten 24a to retain the balls 18 when said balls are not in use. To play the game one or more players will select a ball by placing a hand into the space 17. After selecting a ball, the player or players will position the ball selected in alinement with a compartment 15,. release the ball and allow it to roll under guard 16 and down the inclined board. To return the balls, after a game has been played, an attendant, at the lower end will raise the board, at the lower end to cause the balls to roll into space 17 Each compartment 15 will represent a certain value, numerals for instance, the winner being the one scoring the greatest number of points. The

.board at one end will be secured to a suitable support 26, by the hinges 24 and 25. The opposite end of the board will rest upon a support 27.

What I desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a game apparatus, a bottom member, sides and end members carried Lthereby, compartments at one end of the board, a guard adjacent the opposite end fthie board separated from said end suficiently to permit of `the insertion of a hand, the bottom of the guardubeing spaced suiciently Ytrom the bottom member to provide a passage `lEor a ball, and a supplemental guard .attached to and extending outwardly from the sides and top of the guard irst named and alsoalong the side members of the board.

In an apparatus, a bottom member, sides and end members carried thereby, compartments at one end of the board, a guard adjacent the opposite end of the board separated from said end suiiciently to permit of the insertion of a hand, the bottom of the guard being spaced from the bottom member to provide a passage forv a ball, a supplemental guard extending upwardly fromv the guard first named ,andalso along the side members ot' the board, and hinges connecting the board at the end adjacent the guard toa suitable support.
