While we have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying our invention into eit'ect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. "We, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail ourselves or such variations and Modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Having described our invention, what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. An apparatus of the class described comprising a supporting plate provided with a steam-tight chamber therebeneath and a duct extending from said chamber, a housing at the lower end of said duct for containing water, heating means extending into the housing for heating the Water to generate steam, said steam being adapted to pass through the duct and into the chamber to heat said plate, and a pipe communicating with said chamber and carrying a removable gauge at its outer end, said gauge being removable to permit the removal of air from said chamber by means of said steam and to be replaced for retaining said steam with in said chamber.
2. An apparatus of the class described comprising a level top plate provided with a chamber thereunder, a drain provided around the outer edge of said plate and h aving an outlet duct extending therefrom, a duct extending from said chamber, a housing at the lower end of said duct for con taining a quantity of water, electric heating means extending into said housing for heating the water to generate steam to pass into said chamber and heat said plate, and a pipe on said chamber with a steam gage which is removable for escape of air from said chamber and is replaceable to retain the steam in said chamber.
3. An apparatus of the class described comprising a table construction provided with a metal top plate having a drain formed around its outer edge, a drain duct extending downward from said drain, a shelf on said table for supporting a receptacle beneath said drain, a chamber formed beneath said plate by means of a V-shaped construction fastened beneath said plate, a pair of ducts extending from the bottom of said chamber, a housing at the lower end of each duct for containingwater, and electric heating means in each housing for heating the water and generating steam therewith, said steam passing through said ducts into said chamber for heating said plate.
