H. M. BREKKE CLOTHESPIN CARRIER Filed ,Nov. l3 1923 Patented May 19, 1925.
UNITED STATES HERMAN M. BREKKE, 0F VIRGINIA, MINNESOTA.
CLOTHESPIN CARRIER.
Application filed November 13, 1523. Serial No. 674,524.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMAN M. BREKKE, citizen of the United States, residing at Virginia, in the county of St. Louis and State of Minnesota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Clothespin Carriers, of which the following is a speci fication.
This invention relates to a carrier or bag particularly adapted for the reception of clothes pins, the primary object of such an invention being the provision of an article that includes a member to which a piece of cloth or other suitable fabric may be so attached as to provide a bag for the reception of clothes pins, the means to which said piece of cloth or other fabric is secured being provided with a means whereby the same may be detachably engaged with the clothes line, and this in such a manner that the bag or carrier may be moved along the clothes line during the hanging of clothes for providing a ready means for obtaining clothes pins during the clothes hanging operation.
One of the main objects of this invention resides in the provision of an article of this character that may be manufactured and marketed at an extremely small cost, the
device being very simple of construction, the same comprising essentially but two parts that may be detached, but operatively joined together in a simple and quick manner.
lVith the above and other objects in View as the nature of the invention will be better understood, the same comprises the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings, and claimed. I
In the drawings, wherein there is shown the most practical embodiments of the present invention, and wherein like reference characters designate corresponding parts throughout the different views:
Figure 1 is an. elevational view of a clothes pin carrier constructed in accordance with the present invention, the same being shown in use.
Figure 2 is an elevational View of one of the main elements comprising the present invention, said main elements including an angular shaped metal plate provided at its corners with clasp members for allowing the detachable engagement of the beforementioned piece of cloth or suitable fabric,
said plate member having associated therewith a hook element for allowing the assembled carrier to be positioned upon a clothes line and to be readily removed in opposite directions thereon.
Figure 3 is a plan view of said plate member,
Figure 4 is a plan view of the blank from which this member is formed, and
Figure 5 is a similar view of the beforementioned cloth elements that is adapted to be detachably associated with said plate member.
Now having particular reference to the drawings, my novel clothes pin carrier emj bodles the provlslon of a relatively squared sheet metal plate 5 that is formed at its four corners with relatively narrow tongues 6, and at its center point with a small opening 7 for the reception of the lower end of i the shank portion of a suitable hook 8.
In the formation of the cloth element attaching member, said square shaped plate 5 is bent downwardly at its different corners: upon the fold lines 9, after which the beforementioned tongues 6 may be reversely bent for providing spring clasps 10.
The clothes pin receiving elementper se embodies as shown in Figure 5 a substantially square shaped piece of fabricll', the edges of which are suitably reinforced as at 12 and the four corners of which-are formed with eyelet reinforcedopenings 13 it being of course understood that in actual use,
this cloth may be detachably associated with the plate 5 by engaging said opening.
13 over the clasp 10 at the opposite corners of said plate.
It will thus be seen that I have provided a highly novel and useful form of clothes pin carrier and one that may be readily supported upon the clothes line and moved to the desired position thereon during the clothes hanging operation for allowing ready access to behad to the clothes pin.
Although I have herein shown and described, the most preferred embodiments of the present invention, with which I am at this time familiar, it is nevertheless to be spirit and scope of the appended claim.
Having thus described my invention,
what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: I a
In a clothes pin carrier of the class described, a plate element, attachmentmembers formed at the corners of said plate member, a strip of cloth of relatively 10 greater dimension than said platemember and formed at its corners With openings for engagement with said attachment members at the corners of said plate.
In testimony whereof I afliX my signa- 15 ture.
HERMAN M. BREKKE.
