.lie it known that I, lloninrr Morrrr'r, a citizen of theV United States, and a resident of Cincii'inati. in the county of Hamilton and State of tlhio, have invented certain new and useful linpriiwements in' Tools, of which the 'following is a full, clea'r, and exact deriptioin reference being` `rad 'to' the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.
My invention relates to improvements in monkey wrenches, in which the smooth faces of the wrench aws can be readily and easily converted into serrated jaws to serve as a pipe wrench, and in which the tool is provided with a collapsible frame for mounting a hacksaw, with the blade adapted to be tightened by the ordinary adjustment of the movable `jaw of the wrench.
The invention consists of that certain novel construction and arrangement of parts which will bc hereinafter more particularly pointed out and claimed, in which the above recited results and other features of novelty are attained .l n the drawing:

The main portion of the wrench is of ordinary construction with an outer fixed jaw 1 rigidly mounted on the end of the threaded shank 2. The inner movable jaw 3 is mountcd to slide on the outer Unthreaded portion of the shank, and its shank portion d is cut away to receive the threaded nut 5 traveling on the threaded shank 2, so that by turning the nut 5, the movable aw will be advanced or retracted as desired, to cooperate with the fixed jaw 1.
The inner face of the outer fixed jaw 1 is provided with a detachable plate 6, serrated on one side 7, with the serrations engaging similar serrations 8 on the fixed jaw- This plate 6 with the smooth side outermost is secured to the outer jaw 1 by a screw 9. The serrations are thus protected from wear and misuse. The` inner face of the movable jaw 3 is provided with a threaded hole 10 to rc- 'senar No. 676,651.

The movable jaw 3 on one face is providedE with a dovetailed groove 12, in which is mounted a sliding bar 13, with a pair of holes 1l, 15, and a spring-pressed pin 16 seated in a socket in the base of the groove 12, normally engages in the hole to retain the bar 13 in place. By depressing the pin 1G, the bar will be released and the bar can then be extended until the locking pin engages the hole 14. The other end of the bar carries a stud or pin 17 which is normally seated in a groove 18 in the head of the movable jaw.
The shank 2 is fitted with a handle 20, and in a. groove 21 in the handle is pivoted an arm 22 normally flush with the surface of the handle. The pivot end of the arm 22 is formed with a shoulder 23 to hold the arm when extended at right angles to the handle, and the end of the arm is bent at its outer end to form a supporting pin 24C in line with the stud 17.
The upper face of the shank of the wrench is provided with a lengthwise groove 25v which extends across the fixed jaw and into the handle 20, and in this groove a saw blade 25 is secured by a screw 26 which passes through a hole in the end of the blade and is threaded into a hole in the shank. By removing the screw 26, the saw blade is released and can be withdrawn by lifting its rounded outer end. The blade also has a hole at its opposite end to correspond with the screw hole and with the frame parts 13 and 22 extended; and the saw blade may be mounted on the studs 17 and 24, and the blade drawn taut by adjusting the jaw 3 by the nut 5.
For holding the handle 2O on the shank, a long bolt 28 is provided with a disk 29 to abut against the end of the handle. This bolt is screw-threaded at the end to screw into a threaded recess in the shank, and this end of the bolt is formed into a screw-driver 30 and the disk or head 29 serves to cover the stud 24 when the arm 22 is not in use. The outer end of the bolt 28 is formed in the shape of an alligator Wrench 31, which serves also as an extension of the handle when the saw is in use. The screw-driver 3() is of a size to it the screws 9 and 26.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to Secure b v Letters Patent, is

In a tool of the character speoiied, provided Wit-li an operating handle and a shank portion, a fixed outer jaw on said shank, and a movable inner jaw thereon, with means for adjusting and holding the movable jaiv with relation to the outer jaw, the movable jaw being grooved longitudinally with a slidable bar carrying a. projecting stud seated in said groove, and an arm piv oted to the handle with a corresponding stud thereon, said bar and arm adapted to be projected to form a frame for a saw blade, with the jaw adjusting means adapt ed to tighten said frame. l
