The object of the invention is a parti tioned pedestal of armored concrete for masts which may be laid simply around the mast. The improvement essentially consists in that the pedestal for the mast is provided with openings adapted to receive radially I movable blocks, the. inner ends of which engage with the mast, while the outer ends of the blocks are subjected to the action of pressing screws or wedgesarranged in a collar surrounding the pedestal of the mast. These blocks are preferably positioned at the upper end of the pedestal and substantially at the height of the ground, so that the mast may be rigidly framed at two places. Such an arrangement has the effect,

that the Wall ofthe pedestal acts as an arched vault. I

The invention will be claimed at the end hereof, but will be first. described in connection with'the embodiment of it chosen from among other embodiments for illustration in the accompanying drawing, in Wl1lCl1- Fig. 1 is a front elevation.

The pedestal of the mast made of armored concrete consists of twosemi-circular parts a and a, and is closed at its lower end by a bottom piece I), being also partitioned. Between the upper end of the pedestal and the bottom piece I) an intermediary bottom piece 0 which is in a similar manner par- -titioned, is arranged above the lower end at a distance of about two-thirds of the length of the pedestal. Each part of the bottompiece I) and of the intermediary bottom piece 0 is provided with a centering pin (Z, engaging a centering hole 6 of the other part.

Above the intermediary bottom piece 0 and below the upper edge of the pedestal the two parts of the latter are provided with radially arranged openings 2' of suitable cross-section, which are adaptedto recelve blocks is of wood or metal, the inner ends of which engage with the outer surface of the mast, while the outer ends are acted upon by screws m, whlch are arranged 1n a' collar Z surrounding the pedestal of the mast I 7 and which when being tightened'press the blocks is, movable in the openings 71, toward the mast. The latter therefore is rigidly held'at two places.

The use of the blocks'k movable in the openings 1' has the advantage, that the mast and the pedestal may be connected to a rigid Whole Withoutthe mast coming into contact with the innersurface of the wall ofthe pedestal and that all occurring forces are transmitted to the outer surface of the-wall of the pedestal. r
