rIfhe primary object of thel invention is toV provide a seat pad for .sportuienfs coats whereby a cushion will be provide-d for thesportman while sitting in a boatpduclr blind, et cetera. y The invention further aims to provide a seat pad that is attached directly to the coat, and this in such a manner that the same kwill depend therefrom and seelr a. position upon a. seat when the sportsman nieves to sitting po sition.

A further object of the invention resides in the provision of a. combination coat and seat pad wherein the pad may be supported entirely within the coat when the use of the saine is not required.

Other objects will become apparent as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same comprising the novel form, combination, and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

In carrying out the present invention, the sportsmans coat 5 is provided at its inner side and at the back thereof with a pair of spaced vertically extending elongated tabs 6 6, the lower ends of which are secured to the lower edge of the* coat by stitching or the like while the opposite ends of the pads are provided with button holes for receiving buttons 7 7 upon the inner side of the coat 5 in vertical alignment with the secured ends of the tabs.

The pad per se is designated by the reference character 8 and is preferably of the rectangular configuration as disclosed, the same consisting of a fabric or leather jacket 9 within which is a filler of felt or other suitable padding material designated 10. The upper edge of the pad is equipped adjacent opposite ends with a pair of metallic rings 11 11 through which the tabs 6 6 are to be engaged prior to the securing of the same 1926. It will thus be seen that the pad will always dependv from the lower edge of the coatl soy that the samel will engage upon` the seat when' thel sportsman moves to sitting posi'- t-ion so that he may have free use of his hands while fishing, hunting, or the like..

In order that the pad may be arranged entirely within the coat when the same is not necessary for use, the upper edge of the pad between the rings 11 1l is equipped with a fabric tongue l2 within which is a button hole for receiving a button 13 upon the inner side of thek coat 5 intermediate the before mentioned buttons 7 7. Obviously the pad may be slid upwardly entirely in back of the coat and secured in this position by arranging the button 13 within the button hole of the tongue 12.

It will thus be seen that I have provided a highly novel, simple, and efficient form of .seat pad for sportsmans coats that is well adapted for all the purposes heretofore designated.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. In combination with a coat of the character described, a seat pad normally dependving belowV the coat, a sliding connection between the pad and the back side of the coat at the interior thereof, and means whereby the seat pad may be supported in position entirely within the coat when not in use.

2. In combination with a coat of the character described, a pair of elongated tabs secured at their lower endsto the lower edge of the coat at the inner side thereof, means whereby the opposite ends of the tabs may be detachably secured to the inner side of the coat, and a seat pad supported in depending relation with respect to the coat by reason of said tabs, lsaid pad having means through which the tabs may be passed. V

3. In combination with a coat of the character described, a pair of elongated tabs secured at their lower end-s to the lower edge of the coat at the inner side thereof, means whereby the opposite ends of the tabs may be detachably secured to the inner'side of the coat, a seat pad supported in depending relation with respect to the coat by reason of said tabs, said pad having nieans through which the tabs inay be passed, and means whereby the pad ina-y be supported entirely within the coat when the saine is not in use.

4L. In combination with a coat of the Class described, a seat pad pivotally and slidably connected to the lower portion of the baolr of the coat, said pad adapted to depend below the lower edge of the coat when in one position, the pad being adapted to be en tirely Concealed within the coat when in another position.

5. In combination with a Coat of the class described, a` seat pad pivotally and slidably connected to the lower portion of the back of the Coat, said pad adapted to depend below the lower edge of the coat when in one position, the pad being adapted to be entirely concealed within the coat when in another position, and means for securing the pad in the last mentioned position.

6. In combination with a coat of the class described, a seat pad pivotally and slidably connected to the lower portion of the back of the coat, said pad adapted to depend below the lower edge of the coat when in one position, the pad being adapted to be entirely concealed within the coat when in another position, ineans for securing the pad in the last mentioned position, said means oomprising a tongue having a button hole 'formed ther-ein carried by the upper edge portion of the pad, and a buttonl for oooperation with said button hole secured to the inner side of the back portion of the coat.
