GRAVITY-OPERATED FIGURE TOY.
I Application filed July 21, 1925. Serial No. 45,101.
This invention relates to improvements in toys and has for an object the provision of a toy which is shaped to imitate a rabbit or other figure, provided with means acting to maintain the figure in an upright position.
Another object of the invention' is the provision of a toy of this character which includes a base formed of Soft or sponge like rubber, which will cause the figure to rebound when thrown or dropped, so that the figure will bounce and produce the effect of a 'um ing rabbit.v
Vit i the abovel and other objects in View,
the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompan ing drawings and pointed out in the appen ed claim.
In the drawings;
Figure 1 is a perspective Vview of a rabbitlike figure` constructed in accordance with the invention.
Figure 2` is a sectionalrview of the same. Referring to the drawings in detail, wherein like characters of reference denote corres ondin parts, the reference character 10 in lcates t e body of the figure which is preferably made of rubber and is hollow, beinfr formed with thin walls so as to provide a ight structure. The body is mounted upon a base y11 whose under face is rounded or curved as indicated at l2 so as to permit of a rocking or rolling movement. The Abase 11 is preferably made of` light spongelike rubber and is relatively thick, while embedded in thebase near the lower face thereof is a weight 13. The weight is preferably y formed of someheavy material, such as lead,
so as to provide a relatively heavy base. By 4o constructing the figure 1n the manner shown and described, when the toy is dropped or thrown against the floor, it will rebound or bounce due to the construction of the base 11 while the Weight 13 will maintain the toy 45 su stantiallg upright and the effect of va jumping ra bit will be provided.
While the toy is shown in the forml of a rabbit, it is of course obvious that its shape may be changed to represent other animals or figures.
The invention is susceptible of various Achanges in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as proper- 6o ly fall withinvthe scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention. what is claimed is As an article of manufacture, `a to consisting of a relatively thick solid base ormed 0I sponge-like rubber with a lower spherical obular surface, a weight having a similar ttom surface eccentric to the irs't bottom surface, said base in cross section having a 05 substantial diameter and having an edge extending around the greater diameter of the base, said ed e bein arcuate in cross section, and a light ho low opstanding figure forming an integral part of the base, the 7"v hollow ligure being of less diameter than the greater diameter of the base,l whereby the weighted base will maintain the figure alwa sin an upright position.
n testimony whereof I ailix in FRANK B.
si nature.
