This invention relates to improvements in sanitary belts primarily designed for ladies Wear.
The primary object of the invention is to provide an improved belt for supporting sanitary napkins and the like, which has pockets formed therein adapted to receive a deodorant or perfume.
With the foregoing and other objects in it view which will be made manifest in the following detailed description and specifically pointed out in the appended claims, reference is had to the accompanying drawings for an illustrative embodiment of the inven- 155 tion, wherein: s
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved belt;
Fig. 2 is a vertical section taken substantially on the line 2-4 oi Fig. l;
Fig. 8 is a horizontal section taken substantially on the line 33 of Fig. l; and
Fig. i is a side elevation, parts being.
broken away, of one of the receptacles holdin the deodorant or perfume. p w ,lteferring to the accompanying drawings wherein similar reference characters designate similar parts throughout, the improved belt consists of two side pieces 10 and 11 adapted to extend around the sides of the so wearer. iln the preterred form of construction these side pieces are formed of wide strips of elastic. The ends of the side pieces 10 and 11 are connected by pairs of sections oi webbing'or netting, the front pair being indicated as termed oi sections 12 and 13, Whereas the rear pair is indicated as formed of sections 14: and 15. llhe sections of webbingor netting are secured upon the sides of the side pieces 10 and ll. adjacent the ends thereof, and the sections forming each pair cooperate to form pockets, which are arranged adjacent the front and rear of the belt. The lower edges of the sections of each pair are connected together to form a closed bottom torv the pocket, whereas the upper edges are referahly left open, provi n pockets wit open tops. Small sections or elastic indicated at 16 and l? are secured to the oclrets formed at the front and rear of the it and depend therefrom; Suitable sections or fabric indicated at 18 and 19 respectively are secured to the lower ends oil the sections of elastic l6 and 17 respectively and these sections of fabric are a apted to have mounted thereon a fastening means, such as indicated by the safety pins 20. The safety pins 20 are adapted to secure a sanitary napkin to the belt adjacent the trout and rear thereof.
Within the pockets "formed at the front as and back of the belt, there are removably disposed receptacles indicated at 21, one of which is clearly shown in Fig. 43. These receptacles are preferably closed and contain a deodorant or perfume. Because oi the :tact that the receptacles 21 are formed of fabric and that the sections forming the pockets are also of a :torarninons material, the deodorant may readily escape through the pores or interstices in these parts. lit to will be readily understood that hy having the receptacles Ell-removable from the pockets formed in the belt, the belt can readily be washed or laundered when the receptacles containing the deodorant are removed and to alter the belt has'become cleaned, the recap tacles 21 containing the deodorant or perfume may be again inserted into the pockets From the alcove it will be readilyappreciated that an improved sanitary belt is proso vided havin fastening means arranged adjacent the ront and rear thereof for su porting a sanita naplrin and that the be t has a plurality 0 pockets, in each of which is rein'ovably disposed a deodorant or perat fume.
it will he understood that various changes in the detail of construction may be made without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as defined hy the appended to claims.
I claim: v
1. A sanitary belt comprising two side pieces, pairs of sections or foraminous ma terial connecting the ends of said side pieces so as to form open topped pockets adjacent the front and rear of the belt, and receptacles containfn a deodorant and perfume dis-= posed wit .in said pockets.
2. A sanitary belt comprising: two side pieces of wide strips ct elastic, pairs cf sections of non-elastic material connect the ends of the strips of elastic and f0 pockets diametricall' opposite to each other so that the belt may he worn with one pocket in the front and the other in the rear and the pockets being open at the tap, a dependneee eee Q ing strip of elastic secured to the bottom of each pocket, and sections of fabric secured to the lower end of the depending strips of 10 fabric.
In testimony whereof I have signed my neme to thisspecificaticn.
BELLE SGHAFFER.
