ROBERT L. FISCHER, OF LARCHMONT, NEW YORK.
SYRINGE HOLDER.
Application filed April 7, 1927. Serial No. 181,824.
- ready. attachment to a radio cabinet or any other appropriate support and being calculated to receive and hold any drops of electrolytic acid that may gravitate from a battery hydrometer syringe, and thereby prevent the acid from injuring furniture, rugs and the like.
To the attainment of the foregoing, the invention consists in the improvement as hereinafter described and definitely claimed.
In the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification Figure 1 'is a view showing the preferred embodiment of my invention in side elevation and also showing a battery hydrometer syringe as properly arranged in the holder so that the cup of the holder will receive any acid that drips from the syringe.
Figure 2 is a perspective of the holder, per se.
Similar numerals ofreference designate corresponding parts in both views of the drawing.
The battery hydrometer syringe illustrated is of the ordinary well known construction and has a bulb 1 and also has a disof the said will be understood as compr sing upper and lower body sections 4 and 5, the upper section 4 being provided with inturned flanges 6, and the upper portion of the section 5 being arranged to slide, longitudinally in and between the said flanges 6 so that the body sections 4 and 5 will be retained in alinement with each other and also so that the body may be increased or diminished in length as occasion demands to fit it to syringes of different lengths. It will also be noted that the section 4 is apertured at 7 and the section 5 is apertured at 8 so that they may be attached to a wall of a radio cabinet or to any other appropriate support whereupon it will be readily understood the sections 4 and 5 will be fixed with respect to each other.
Adjacent to its upper end, the body section 4 is provided with a spring clip 9 adapted to embrace and retain the bulb 1 of the syringe after the manner shown in Figure 1. The body section 5 is provided at 10 with an open and preferably circular retainer, the said retainer being designed to receive and surround the nozzle 2 of the syringe so as to prevent lateral displacement of the nozzle end of the syringe.
At its lower end the section 5 is provided with ahorizontally disposed cup 11, preferably integral with the body section 5 and having for its purpose to catch and retain any drops of electrolytic acid that may gravitate from the nozzle 2 of the syringe. The capacity of the cup 11 will be appreciated as adequate when it is stated that only one or two drops of acid fall after each use of the syringe, and the same evaporates before it is necessary to again use the hydrometer syringe.
It will be appreciated from the foregoing that my novel holder is simple and inexpensive in construction, is susceptible of ready adjustment as to length, and is adapted to be readily secured in its adjusted state by screws 12' or other suitable means to an appropriate support; and it will also be appreciated that my novel holder is etficient,
in performing the specific function ascribed to it, and that when the syringe is properly placed .in the holder, not only will the syringe be retained in position for convenient use, but any drops of acid that may exude from the syringe willbe caught and held and effectively prevented from injuring furniture, carpets, rugs, or the clothing of the party who seeks to use the syringe.
I have specifically described the referred embodiment of my invention in or er to impart a full, clear, and exact understanding of the said embodiment. I do not desire, however, to be understood as limiting my self to the precise construction disclosed, my invention being defined by my appended claim within the scope of which modifications may be made without departure from my invention.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new is A holder for the purpose described, comprising body sections, one section being flanged and the other being telescopically arranged in the flanged section, whereby the body may be increased or diminished in length, and one section of the body being equ pped at its lower end with a (1r?) cup a clip on the upper section of the b0 an adapted to receive and hold the bulb of a syringe, and an open retainer carried by the other body section and adapted to receive the nozzle of a syringe and to retain the syringe in such position that any drippin s from said nozzle will be disposed in am cup. v
In testimony whereof I aflix m si nature.
