' rlhis invention relates to improvements in pull overl garments and lthe yobject of ythe inline, not permitting snow entering'the pull` over garment lat the same point when the child plays in the snow while being at the same time a protection to the other garmentsv worn by the child, preventing the garment from bagging and giving a better appearance as a whole to the garment fitted upon the child.

A further object is to provide a garment of vthis character which can be conveniently and easily `placed upon the wearer.

A further object is to provide a garment of this description that will be simple and economical to manufacture and which will provide complete protection for the-'wearer'. A still further object is the provision of a garment without sleeves that can be secured and removed from the wearer quickly.

With these and other objects in yview the invent-ion consists of a pull over garment formed from knitting fabric or other suitable material comprising a body portion open at the top and having leg portions integral therewith,`no special apertures being necessarily provided for the 'arms and for the head or neck, and provided with suitable means at the top adapted when engaged -to cause the garment to fit` snugly around th arms and neck of the wearer. 4

Referring more particularly to the drawings, in which a preferred example of my invention is disclosed A indicates the garment as a whole formed from knitting fabric or other suitable material providing leg portions 10 and 11 and body portion 12, the lat-l '55 ter being opened at the top as at 13 andl provided on opposite sides of the open top with Figure 4 is a fragmentary front viewwith fastening members, suoli -as buttons v141 :and 15 and buttonhol-es 16 land .1.7 i adaptedin fengagement as rillustrated in Figure 2 to bring the top of the garment together to form t-he neck and armholes '18 and 19 whereby the garment fits snugly on the wearer and whereby it is easily and quickly put on or taken off.

It will be noted that no provision is necessarily made in the sides of the body portion for armh-oles nor is there any provision necessarily made for a neck portion, thereby simplifying vthe construction and [permitting the garment to be manufactured at very low cost. In short the combination with the open top and fastening means therein in operation provides armholes and a neck opening by drawing the top at spaced predetermined points together in a detachable connection.v

If anybody would prefer there is some kind of aperture at the neck or at the arms, or at both neck and arms, so as toA relieve any crumpling whenr joined together, this of course could be done without departing from the spirit of the device. Furthermore the fastening means may be buttons, snaps, cords, ribbons, or any other suitable device, one or more of which maybe used with either single or overlapping edges either one way or another at the top. The top edge as well as any other portion of the garment may also be reinforced vif found advisable. One may find preferable to add to this new device a string at some part of the portion body, so

as to use the new garment in both ways, that isabove' or below the shoulders, and lby so doing it is understoodI it will not depart from the spirit of the new discovery. A From the foregoing the operation of wear,- ing the ga-rmentwill be apparent. It is simply slipped on over the body of the wearer and the fasteningmeans in the top brought together and engaged.y To remove the `gar-v ment it is only necessary to dis'engagethe fastening means in the top andv pull it off.

Iny the modified form as illustrated in Figure 5 t-he garment is provided with fastening means such as double buttons letaL and 15a y and button holes 16a and 17? which when fastened provide a more restricted opening of boththe neck and arm holes. v

As many changes could be made inthe above construction and many apparently tained in the accompanying specification and dra-Wings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense. I

lower body portion. and leg' and foot portions, all of the said portions beingintegral and continuous with each other, the top of said garment being provided with a body opening extending'across the top of the garment With the restof the garment being closed and unopened,k and separable fasten-4 ing means arranged adjacent the said body; opening to ,enable the top of said garment tof be secured over the shoulders of tlie Wearer in suoli a manner as to fit snugly around the vneck and arms.
