The arm T supports the dental engine, the table7 and a Bunren burner. The arm 7, at ita top, receives the pivotally mounted engine bracket Q4, the lower end ot which providefiA meane` for pivotally mounting the laterally extending auxiliary hollow er channel arm 25. an shown.

Near the axis upon which the arm swings, the pipe 3() leads into the union set. into the arm 25, and from the bottom of this union a pipe 39 leads downwardly. The arm 7 being curved, the axis upon which the arm 25 swings passes out of it and, upon this axis where it intersects the wall ot the arm T, a valve housing is disposed. The valve chamber thereof is at 4l, and leading downwardly therefrom and coaxially therewith is a bore in which a short pipe 42, extending downwardly out of the housing, is rotatably mounted. a suitable gland 43 being provided to prevent the escape of gas. The lower end of the pipe 39 is turned toward the lower end ot the pipe 42 and there the two ends are connected together. The result is that as the arm 25 swings about its axis, so do the pipes 39 and 42 swing about the saine axis.
The valve seat, within the housing, is at 44, to which the gas line 45 leads, this gas line coniing up trom the base l1. where it is adapted tor connection with the gas line in the floor, through the pedestal 5 and arm 7.
Cooperating with the valve seat 44 is a needle shut-otllvalve 46 which is adapted to be moved into and out of contact therewith by means of the valve handle 47 into the stein ot which the end of the needle valve is threaded, as shown at 48. whereby the valve, which is held against angular movement by means ot pin 49, is moved inwardly or outwardly according to the direction ol rotation ot the valve handle. The stem of the valve handle is confined tor angular movement by the ring 50 and a suitable gland 5l is provided to prevent leali of gas.
Upon the swinging bracket 24. a ydental engine, comprising the usual electric motor articulated belt trame 5S, and handpiece is mounted. the electrical cont'luctors 55. for the motor, coming up to it trom thc pedestal 5. through the arm 7. and through the bracket which is hollow for that purpose and the purpose. of lightness. From the back of the pedestal 5, in the center near the top` another hollow supporting arm 63 extends slightly rearwardly and then upwardly. At its end this arm is provided with two branches, the branch 64, extending directly upwardly, supporting the spot light 65, by way ot the members 66, 66 connected together through universal friction joints, and th'e branch 6i" supporting the electric fan 6T, The electrical conductors for the spotlight and tan come up from the pedestal 5 and through the arni 63, and a. resistance 63 may be provided in the arm 63 for the spot light circuit if the high voltage is 220 volts instead of llt) volts.

'lhe lower ends of the receptacles are bellcd lo avoid abrasion ot the cords, and the upper ends are belled tor the same purpose when the instruments are in use. 'lhe inclined relation is to avoid interference of the cords with adjacent parts.

The air connection 9-l is tor the spray bottles, flexible tubing leading theretroi'n passing downwardly around the pulley' 87 and then upwardly to the air control 79 in the receptacle 74. The air connection 95 is tor the hot air syringe, tleXible tubing leading therefrom passing downwardly' around the pulley 99 and then upwardly to tho hot air syringe 7G disposed in the receptacle 71. Electric current is also led to the hot air syringe, this being accomplished by leads from the connection block 96, which will be referred to later, passing into the hot air syringe air tube by way ot the special insulatingr connection 97, and then through the tube to the syringe. Guides 99 hold the tubing to their pulleys. From the connection block 99 electrical conductor pairs lead downwardly, and around the pulleys 88 and 89 respectively, and then upwardly to the mouth lamp T7, inthe receptacle 72, and to the heating instrument T8, in the receptacle 73, respectively.
From the connection block 59 leads are carried up to the regulz'iting transformer 98 by means ot which low voltage is supplied to the connection block 99. To control the voltage of the low voltage circuit the regulator 99 is provided, the handles therefore being exposed on the front ot the pedestal 5 near the top, as shown in Figure 1, as part ot a switchboard. This really comprises two regulators, one tor the mouth lamp and one for the heating instruments, the voltages being independently regulatable from three to twelve volts. A resistance 99 is connected in series with the mouth lamp to prevent excessi vc current passing through the lamp even at the highest point. This switch-board also includes the main line switch which controls all current to the unit, as belore stated, and a low voltage switch 191, which controls the circuit to the transformer, assuming the deviex as a whole lo be supplied with allernating current. 1n the case ol' direct current this switch controls a rotary converter connected to the electric connection block 56. rl`he switchboard also includes a push button 192 for a call bell or buzzer, main line tuse receptacles 193). 19?, and a pilot lamp 19l. This lamp is mounted on a small supporting plate 194"L on the inner ends ot the rodsl 19t" which extend trom the glazed trame 1.9ic and ari sliclable in the lugs 191d on the pedestal wall adja cent to the opening 19.1AC in the wall. Pulling the l'rame away from the opening brings the lamp through the opening and permits easy replacement olI the halb.
From the low voltage connection hloclr 96 a pair ot leads control" Yd by the voltage regulatoI also go to the low voltage plug receptacle 195, conveniently located at the side ot' the pedestal 5, near the top, as shown in Figure 2, where -onnection may be iliade, by plug and cord. Yt'or any additional low voltage instrument desired, such as operating light, head light or the like.
Air valves 199 and 199l are provided for the hot air syringe and spray bottle air lines, respectively, these valves being conveniently located as part ot the switchboard.
A receptacle 19T is also provided on the iront o1' the pedestal 5 tor a tooth tester` the low voltage current to which is taken trom the small step-up transformer 97il the primary ot which is regulated by the voltage regulator tor the mouth lamp. An air lilter 198 may be connected between the piping 91 and 92 it desired.

A dental equipment comprising a pedstal, a unitary halting device set upon and forming a top l'or said pedestal, said device comprising receptacles t'or a tumbler and bottle. respect ive electric heating elements theretor, means for regulating said elements, and means t'or electrically connecting said elements to a circuit within said pedestal by setting said device thereon.

A dental equipment comprising a support having an electric circuit, a unitary heating device forming a top i'or said support, and comprising a receptacle, a heating element, and means l'or regulating said heating element, and means tor electrically connecting said clement to said c'rcuit by setting said device upon said support.
