A. o. HEBNER' LADYS HOSYE SUPPORTER Filed May 28, 1930 l'hvenrw- Azwm 0- lredher .Mdfu/ Affarneyc V Patented July 14, 1931 UNITED STATES Q ANNA o. HEBNER, OF msmaamsgcamomn g LADYS nosn grammes I Application filed May 28,
My invention relates to aladys hose supporter. I
It is an objectof this invention to provide a ladys hose supporter which is neat inappearance, comfortable when worn, and simple in construction. As most of the strain ona womans hosiery is caused by her forward movements in walking, sitting or driving, the hose supporter is designed to be self-adjusting to equalize the strain or pull on the hose without friction or wear on the clothing. It is also designed to fit snugly against the body of the wearer, making the hose supporter especially suitable for close- 4 fitting and. thin dresses.
It is another object of this invention to provide ahose supporter which is detachably supported from a waist encircling band such I as a corset, belt and the like, in which the devices fastening the same to said waist-encircling band, are covered with fabric to prevent contact of said fastening devices with either the body of the wearer or the clothmg. I
With the above and other objects in View, which will appear as the description proceeds, my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawings which form a part of this specification, I have illustrated a preferred embodiment of my invention, in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my hose supporter in position upon a wearer;
Fig. 2 is a front elevation of one hose supporter;
Fig. 3 is a vertical sectional detail showing the construction of the tabs detachably secured to the buttons and the eyelets, and elastic webbing supported thereby.
Referring to the drawings, 1 indicates the waist-encircling band which is shown as a corset, at the lower front edge of which a plurality of spaced buttons 2 are provided.
1930. Serial No. 456,652.
The tabs 8, preferably made of an in- 'is slidable through the intermediate eyelets 4 and the garter clasps 6 are slidably mounted on the elastic webbing 5, it will be appreciated that any strain or pull on the hose will be equalized by the garter clasps 6 supporting the same. The hose supporter may be quicklv detached from the corset 1, bv"
releasing the tabs 3 from the buttons 2. It should be noted that the button 2 is normally disposed between the inner and outer portions 3 and 3 respectively, of the tab'3.
Various changes may be made in the 'details of construction without departing from the spirit or scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
I claim:
1; A ladys hose-supporter comprising a waist-encircling band, a plurality of spaced buttons along the lower front edge thereof, a plurality of eyelets, an elastic webbing passing through said eyelets, garter clasps slidable on said elastic webbing, and a plurality of non-elastic tabs each in the shape of a loop coniprising'a front and rear portion, the latter being provided with a button-hole for engagement with a button so that said button is disposediwithin said tab.
2. A ladys hose supporter comprising a Waist-encircling band, a plurality of spaced fastening devices along the lower front edge thereof, a plurality of eyelets, an elastic webbing passing through said eyelets, gar-.-
ter clasps slidable on said elastic webbing,
and a plurality of non-elastic tabs provided with means coacting with and covering said fastening devices to detachably secure said garter elasps to said waist-encircling band.
3. A ladys hose supporter comprising a Waist-encircling band, a plurality of spaced buttons along the lower front edge thereof, a plurality of eyelets, an elastic Webbing passing through said eyelets, garter clasps slidable on said elastic webbing, and a plurality of tabs each in the shape of a loop and provided with a buttonhole to engage and cover a button. I g
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
ANNA O. HEBNER.
