F. E. HUNT ET AL MULTIPLE BULLETIN BOARD Original Filed 001;. 8. 1928 2 Sheets-Sheet 2 Patented Oct. 6, 1931 Umrsosmrss PATENT OFFICE I FRED E. nunrrnnn CHARLES LOUIS rnrnns, or MARINETTE, WISCONSIN MuLrIrLE BULLETIN BOARD Application fi led Qctobcr 8, 1923, Serial No. 311,108. Renewed February 26, 1931.
V Thisinventionrelates tomultiple bulletin boards.
f Objects of thisinvention are to provide a novel form of bulle'tin'board which is so conctructed that it may hold any number of buli lethi boards,'whichinay be used on bothsides and maybe swung to any ClGSlI'Gd position and rotated about an axis through the bulletin .boairdltc any desired angle; 7
Further objects are to provide a construc- .tion which is very simple and which is easy to produce.
' An embodiment of the invention is shown inthe accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a side elevation of the device with parts in section; 7 Figure 2 is a transverse sectional view on the line 22 of Figure l.
Referring to the drawings, it will be seen I that the device comprises a central main supporting standard lwhich is provided with a bottom flange 2 and with an upper bracket 3 integral withan upper flange 4; The flange '2 may be secured tothe floor and the flange at maybe secured to a vertical wall.
A plurality of bulletin boards 5. are employed and, are each provided with upper. and lower brackets 6 which are equipped with trunnions 7. The trunnions are carried with i in the fittings 8 at the ends of arms 9. The
. I arms have their inner ends rigidly secured to the relatively heavy bearings 10 which are ed in a staggered relation, that is to say, with journaled upon the verticalstandard or rod 1. Ea.ch of these bearings is independently supported by means of a collar 11 provided with a set screw, as indicated in Figure 1. 1 The bulletin boards are preferablymountone projecting belowrthe bottom ofthe succeeding board. w
1 Further, it is tobe noted that the arms 9 are longer than half the-width of the bulletin boardsupported thereby. :This permits the turning ofthe'bullet in boards at any desired i-angle about axes passing therethrough. V
' In addition to this, the bulletin boards may display either side and may receive any suit- Further, they 'may be v turned flat and stacked against the wall when not in use.
It will be seen that a very simple type of multiple bulletin board has been provided by this invention which is easy to construct,
which ischeap, and which is eminently practical.
Although the invention has been described in considerable detail, such description is intended as illustrative rather than limiting as the invention may be variously embodied and as the scope ofsuch invention is to be determined as claimed.
We claim:
L A multiple bulletin board comprising a vertical standard having a supporting flange at its bottom and having a laterally disposed flange at its top, whereby it may be attached to the floor, and a Wall of a room, a plurality of bearing members journalled upon said standard, collars. supporting said bearing members, a plurality of'rods extending out- \vardly from said bearing members, and bulletin boards pivotally supported at the outer ends of said rods.
2. A multiple bulletin board comprising a vertical standard, means for supporting said standard, a plurality of bearing members carried by said standard, collars rigidly attached to said standard and supporting said we have hereunto set our hands at Marinette,
in the county of Marinette and State of Wisconsin.
