This invention relates to improvements in Water closets, the general object of the invention being to provide means for furnishing hot and cold water to a nozzle device located at the front of the top part of the bowl with valves for controlling the flow of the hot and cold water to the nozzle device.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combina- 0 tion and arrangement of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.
In describing the invention in detail, ref
r erence will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a side View of a water closet constructed in accordance with this inven tion.
Figure 2 is a section on line 2-2 of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a section on line 33 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a transverse sectional. view through the upper part of the bowl and looking toward the front thereof.
Figure 5 is a section on line 5-5 of Figure 3.
Figure 6 is a section on line 66 of Figure 4.
In these drawings, the letter A indicates the bowl of the closet and the numeral 1 indicates a nipple located in the front of the top part of the bowl, the nipple extending upwardly and rearwardly with a head part 2 projecting from the inner wall of the bowl. A pair of pipes 3 and 4 are connected to the inner front end of the nipple and passed through the upper part of the bowl, one at each side thereof with their ends extending from the sides of the bowl where they are connected by the valve casings 5 with the hot and cold water 1931. Serial No. 552,765.
pipes 6, a valve 7 being located in each valve casing.
While the drawings show pipes 3 and 4 located in passages formed in the upper part of the bowl, it will of course be understood that the bowl may be formed with these passages or conduits and the pipes eliminated, suitable connections being made for connecting the conduits to the nipple and to the hot and cold water pipe 6.
The exposed end of the nipple is shaped to receive a rubber hose which is shown at 8 in Figures 2 and 6 so that the invention can be used to supply water for enemas or douches as well as other purposes.
It will of course be understood that the nipple can be used alone to spray water on certain parts of the body. As will be understood either hot or cold water can be supplied to the nipple by manipulating the valves 7 or a mixture of both hot and cold water can be supplied to furnish water of the desired temperature.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that changes may be made in the construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. In combination with a toilet bowl having a nipple extending inwardly from the top part of the front portion, a conduit at each side of the bowl and located in the top portion thereof, the inner ends of the conduit being connected with the nipple, and means for connecting the other ends of the conduit to a hot water supply and a cold water supply respectively.
2. In combination with a toilet bowl con duit therein, one at each side of the top part thereof, a hot water supply pipe connected to the rear end of one of the conduits, a cold I water supply pipe connected to the rear end of the other conduit, valves controlling the supply, a nipple in the top part of the front portion of the bowl and extending inwardly, said nipple extending upwardly and rearwardly, the nipple being connected to the front ends of the conduits and having its rear end extending into the bowl and shaped n to receive a hose.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
BARTON KAHN.
