A'further object of my invention is to provide a sanitary appliance including a tank of water or other cleaning fluid with means for supporting a roll of fabric in such a way be unrolled, dampened bythe water, held in a channel shaped holder, and then a piece torn from'it while being held. 4 i k-further object is to provide a sanitary appliance of this general character having compartments, eachprovided with a door so that the device can-be used for hold} ing small articles, the appliance being very desirable in an automobile for instance.

'A further, object is to provide suitable means forsupportingthe device either on the dash or door of an automobile,or onthe back of the front seat if desired. v v Thesupporting means, of c'ourse, can' be attached to the members mentioned or may be attached to a [wall in a residence so that the device can be used in a home orfactory,

or wherever it may be found desirable.

More particularly,it ismy object toprovide a liquid holding tank with a cover havin inga roll supporting means depending therefrom, a roll of fabric being supported there-- by and extendingfrom the tank through a combined holder and cover means for the fabricoutside of the tank, a flange being provided against which to tear a piece of fabric from the roll.

With these and other objects in view my invention consists in the construction, arrangement and combination of the varip u s parts of my device, whereby the objects contemplated are attained, as hereinafter more fully set forth, pointed out in my claims, and

front thereof being indicated by the reference numerals 12, 14, 16 and 18.

' The interior of the casing A is divided into compartments 20, 22, 24 and 26 by wall members 28, and 30, and shelves 32 and 34. The compartments 22, 24 and 26'are closed by hingeddoors 36, 38 and 40.

' Friction latches as shown at 42 may be pro vided for each of the doors adjacent the knobs 44 which are provided for convenience in opening and closing the doors. 1

Within the compartment a removable tank 46 is positioned. .The tank 46 has an open top which may be closed by a' cover member 48.

Depending fromthe'cover member 48 are fabric supporting arms 50 adapted to rotatin the tank 46 and the wall 18 respectively are provided through which the fabric 54' exthe fabric in the tank tends, as shown in Figure 2. The tank 46 is adaptedto contain a quantity of water or other cleaning fluid .as desired. v

A holding means for the fabric 54 is provided in the form of aserrated holder blade 62 supported on a hinged cover plate 64. The hinge connection for the cover plate 64 is indicated at 66. The holder blade 62 is adapted to assume a position in a channel member 68 into which two thicknesses of the fabric 54 tenin are forced, the blade 64 swung to the position shown in Figures 2 and 4. Figure 7 illustrates the holding blade 62 being introduced into the channel member'68.

As the fabric is held by the blade 62 a piece may be torn therefrom as shown in Figure 4, the lower flange of the channel member serving as a tearing edge for the fabric. By providing the roll of fabric immersed in the liquid 60 a piece when tornthere froin will be wetted by the liquid so that the motorist for instance may conveniently obtain a damp cloth for cleaning his hands after changing a tire orthel'ike. I I

The roll of fabric could be supported out of thejliquid and guided into itfor wetting the fabric without wetti g theentire'roll of it, if desired.

As shown in Figure 5, thetop 48,.arms50 and roll of fabric 54 maybe removed. from'the tank 46 when it is desired to replenish the supply of fluid therein. The parts 'may also be lifted to this position for removing the fabric by insertinganotherroll and when this is necessary it-also'becomes necessary to remove the tank 46-so that the fabric can be threaded through the slot 58in the casing A.

One of the storage compartments 22, 24 or 26 could be utilized for containing .a'rol-l of dry fabric for drying ,thejhands afterthey are cleaned if desired.

For supportingthe casing A I providea supporting bar shown in "Figure, 6 of. the drawing which maybe attache'diby screws or bolts to any desired substantially vertical surface and with which clips'72 on the casing A may coact. By this arrangementthecasing is removable from the supporting :bar and consequently fromthe surface to which it is attached.

Qther ways maybe provided for --moisg the fabric from the supply of liquid 60, and other changes may be made without departing from the real spirit and purpose of my invention, and it' is myintentionto cover by my claims, any modified formsof structure or use of mechanical equivalents, which may be reasonably included within their scope.

I claim as my invention}.-

1. In a sanitary appliance of thefkinfddescribed, a casing, acompartment therein, ,a tank for liquid in said removable therefrom, a slot ,in said tank, a cove-r forsaid tank, a rollsupportdepending therefrom for arollof fabric, the slotjin said tan-k being provided for such fabric to extendthrough, a-slot in said casing for such fabric'to extend through ar lso,'ho' lding means -for such fabric and a tearing edge adjacent thereto for such fabric,

In a sanitary appliance ofthe kinf ldescribed, a tank for fluid, means for supporting a roll of fabric in said tank, a slot in said tank from which such fabric extends, a channel member for holding such fabric and a blade adapted to be inserted therein, one flange of said channel constituting a tearing edge for such fabric.
