(c1. iso-1) The object of the invention is to providea mechanism on which the wheels of a baby carriage or crib may be mounted and the carriage or crib operatively connected with the mechanism to be. oscillated by the latter when the mechanism is set in motion, so that there may be no necessity for-attention on the part of an attendant in rocking the baby to sleep or amusing it with the customary carriage or crib move- 10 ment; to provide a mechanismof the Vkind indicated. which is laterallyadjustable so that it may be readily accommodated to the` tread o1 the carriage or the crib rollers; and generally to provide an oscillating device for the purposev l5 indicated which is of simple form and susceptible of cheap manufacture.
With this object in View, the invention consists in a construction and combination of parts of which a preferred embodiment is illustrated'V in the accompanying drawings but to which embodiment the invention is not to be restricted.-
Continued use in practice may dictate certain changes or alterations and the right is claimed to make any which fall within the scope of the annexed claim.

Figure 1 is a side elevational view, partly broken away, showing the invention applied in operative position in connection with a baby carriage.
Figures 2, 3 and 4 are sectional views on the planes indicated by the lines 2-'2, 3-3 and 4 4 respectively of Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a view similar to Figure 1 but showing the invention operatively connected with a crib.
Figure 6 is a detail elevational view, partly in section, of the wrist pin disk.
Figure 7 is a sectional view on the plane indicated by the line 'I--l of Figure 6.
The invention comprises a table or disk I0 which is continuously rotated through the instrumentality of an electric motor l l in whose case is mounted a gear reduction, so that the power shaft I2 will be disposed with its axis vertical and will be run at a comparatively slow angular speed. In orderrthat the rotary movement of the disk maybe translated into oscillating movement of a baby'carriage i4, or a crib I 5, whichever is used, the disk is provided with an eccentrically disposed wrist pin iii formed with a spherical orrglobular head Il receivable in a socket in a head I8, the latter be- Y ing secured to the head of the wrist pin by means Y33 which support the housing. It is obvious, that if thedisk rotates, the carriage or crib will be movedback and forth by reason of the-connection thus p ro- 10 vided between the disk and the carriage consisting of the connecting rod and its associated parts. The motor I I together with the disk are mounted in a casing or housing 22 in which is Adisposed a control resistance 23 and a control switch 24 to 16 which the motor supplyline 25fis led. The resistance 23-will provide for regulating the speed of the motor when the switch 24 is turned on. A mechanical governor 26v is incorporated with the motor mechanism tormaintain the speed of 20 the motor constant in accordance with that secured by the regulation of the resistor 23.
The case 22 has the side walls thereof formed with openings covered with reticulated members 21, this to provide ventilation to the apparatus 25 if interior to the casing and at the same time to exclude the entrance of dust as far as possible.
A hingedly `mounted cover 28 closes the case 22 at the topand in the region of the disk Il), this cover being provided with an opening 29 to provide 30 a clearance space for-the movement of the Wrist pin I6. 'Ihe cover 28 is further slotted, as indicated at 30, radially from` the clearance opening 29 to provide a clearance slot for the connecting rod 20 in opening and closing the cover.
The connecting rod is made extensible by Areason of a sleeve nut 3|, this arrangement permitting a change of position of the cribor carriage being oscillated with respect tothe housing. This adjustment for change of position is desirable so 40 that the connected carriage or crib may be properly positioned to remain on the tracks 32 during oscillating, these ktracks being a. part of the invention and being connected with the cross rails 45 connecting the tracks with the cross rails consist of angular brackets 34 formed with relatively long arms slotted, as indicatedr at`35, so that the tracks may be laterally shifted when the wing 50 Anuts of the clamping bolts 36 are loosened. This arrangement provides for lateral adjustment or i spacing of the tracks 32 to suit the tread of the carriage or crib with which the device is to be connected. After securement of the proper spacing of the rails, the tightening of the wing nuts maintains the adjustment.
vIt is obvious that when the connecting rod 20 i is connected to a carriage or crib through the instrumentality of the clamp 2| and the motor I I set in operation, the carriage or crib will be oscillated back and forth on the tracks by the rotary movement of the disk I0 secured through the rotation of the motor H. f
The invention having been described, what is claimed as new and useful is:
