Abstract

This invention is a utility which is applicable to the comfort of individuals, and a way to carry their jackets or coats when not using them in any place where they need to do so in such a way that it does not bother them anymore while going about performing their business. They do it by carrying the Jackets or Coats on their backs instead of folding and carrying them on their arms, or wrapping them around their waists or just carrying them with discomfort.

Description

    1. FIELD OF INVENTION
  • This invention relates to the comfort and peace of mind of the people when utilizing their jackets or coats during seasonal time or otherwise. [0001]
  • 2. DISCUSSION
  • Present jackets and coats are not user friendly in the way that they are handled when they are not worn. During our years of going to the mall it has always been a chore to figure out what to do with the bulky jackets or coats when shopping. So for a family of a few members like ours with kids and heavy winter or fall coats or jackets and shopping in the mall it has always been “who is going to carry the jackets or the coats?” for hours while in the mall. Similarly while observing the people around during shopping, someone is always carrying the coats or jackets while shopping from one store to the next or even sitting on a bench somewhere with a bunch of clothes in his/her lap. Others could be seen with their coats or jackets tied around their bellies and from time to time reaching over to re-tighten the grip over their waist to prevent the jackets or coats from falling. So far no mall that I have been to had a place to check in the jackets or coats and shop freely without the hassle of carrying them around. And needless to say that if there were such a place in the mall the persons who check in their coats will have to spend extra time filling out papers and waste their time during check in and check out. This design will alleviate the problem of carrying the coats or the jackets by making them more user friendly. So while the people are shopping they can have their coats or jackets with them being carried on their backs. This way, they will have the physical comfort because the best place to carry something is on someone's back and the mental peace of mind that their jackets are not going to be lost or damaged somewhere. And every member of the family can carry his/her own. This will free up the folks to go about their merry way into enjoying the shopping exercise. [0002]
  • 3. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION(S)
  • The present/older jackets and coats do not allow users a good way to be carried when not worn. So by designing something that will be part of the clothing that is not intrusive or look ugly while allowing comfort is the way to go. This design calls for adding a strap that will extend from the middle back of a jacket or a coat to 2 straps that will go over the shoulders down to the chest and to the under arms. Therefore, with this design one could wear the clothes/jacket/coat without noting any difference in appearance or comfort. So when arriving into an inside area of a place or a building one could take the jacket off and insert hands into the straps and accomplish carrying the clothes/jacket/coat onto his/her back. In addition to the straps the design will include an option to provide a way to fold the clothing/jacket/coat to look like a package by adding other strap(s) which hookup to the middle of the back to fold in around the clothes/jacket/coat and hold them in place as a package. Therefore, will make the clothes/jacket/coat look like a backpack on someone's back. Please see FIGS. 1 and 2 for illustration on how the design will be accomplished. These 2 features, the straps to carry the clothes/jacket/coat on someone's back and the straps to allow the folding of the clothes/jacket/coat to look like a package on someone's back are to be claimed as the main ideas for this design. • 4. A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE IDEA AND PICTURES/DRAWING
  • So imagine a jacket or whatever is worn like a jacket with two straps (strap[0004] 1 (3) and strap2 (2) in Picture 1) that initiate (attached) from where the clothes tag (1) is usually located right at the back of the neck. Those 2 straps each form a loop and attach to the inside of a jacket in such a way that they allow the arms to go through the inside of the loop when the arms are extending out into the sleeves. That is how the jacket is normally worn. Now imagine another strap (4) that hooks to the point where those 2 loop straps (3,2) initiate at the clothes tag (1). That lone strap (4) extends down the back to a certain length that allows it to loop around the jacket when it is folded and attach to its original starting point with a Velcro or a button or whatever would to the job. That lone strap (4) is normally not in a loop configuration. So when a person is wanting to carry the jacket as a back pack then that person could take off the jacket fold it on the 2 Y-axis (5) and (6), both fold towards strap axis (7) then another fold again around the x-axis (8) direction all as depicted in picture 2. Then that person will slip his arms into the straps (3,2) where the loops are (as in picture 1). That way the jacket becomes a package which is carried on that person's back rather then carrying his/her arm or tying it down to his/her waist.
  • 5. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTIONS
  • This invention is a combination of 3 ideas which are: [0005]
  • 1[0006] st idea: is the claim to the idea of having to carry someone's clothes/jacket/coat on someone's back.
  • 2[0007] nd idea: is the additional design that will allow the clothes/jacket/coat to be held as a pack after folding it and strapping with the straps as described in section 4 above.
  • 3[0008] rd idea: is coming up with the name to sell this product under, which is “JACKPACKET”.
  • It is important to note that the above designs and ideas can be applied independently such that it could be sold as an add-on onto present clothing or it could be made as part of the new designed clothing. This will allow people who already have clothing that they want to attach this design to do just that and for new customers who are purchasing clothing that this design is mounted on to do so too. Both customers can then benefit from this design and allow them to utilize their clothes more efficiently. [0009]

Claims (4)

We, Caralee Kassab and Roger J. Kassab claim the following:
1. The idea of utilizing straps (which could be made of any material) to carry the clothes/jacket/coat onto someone's back. (As depicted in picture 1 (1, 2 and 3), and picture 2 (5, 6, 7 and 8))
2. The idea of adding more straps that will hold the clothing/jacket/coat while on someone's back in a form of a pack. (As depicted in picture 1 (4))
3. The name of the design which is “JACKPACKIT” which stands for JACKet backPACK IT.
4. That the above idea/design can be sold with the clothing or separately as an attachment to present clothing. End of document.
