In the embodiment of my invention illustrated in Figures 4 6, inclusive, I provide a scarf pin B" comprising a substantially horizontal bar B' as a head and a vertical pin 'l' permanently secured thereto, the horizontal bar being slightly longer than the width of the cravat. 'Ihe flexible mem- V ber C is shown as a chain, an intermediate point of which is connected to a clasp or clamp A' at eyelet 9 and the ends of which are connected to the ends of the horizontal bar 6 at eyelets I0'. The clamp A' is a loop of suitable resilient wire material, or the like, bent back upon itself to form two gripping members Il and Il adapted to hold the hem of the shirt front between them. In this embodiment Vpin 1' in addition to being a factor of safety, serves to hold the bar 6' in the horizontal position or at a desired angle. This embodiment is attached in the same manner as the embodiment of Figures 1 3, inclusive.

It will be apparent that in the invention disclosed the scarf pin and the clasp or clamp coact with the flexible member as safety devices for each other, thus minimizing the possibility of accidental loss or of theft; also that the chain, neatly draped from the head of the scarf pin, af-f, fords a measure of ornamentation for the cravat.

The embodiment of my invention illustrated in Figure 7 isa structure structure similar to the embodiment of Figures 4-6, inclusive, from which,

however, theV pin 1 is omitted. It will be seen that this resulting device would suspend from the clamp A with the bar 6" overlying the cravat E and the flexible member C" substantially underlying the cravat and connecting `the ends of the bar'to the clamp. This embodiment is adapted to be used as a cravat holder alone and would serve such purpose effective- 1y and present a neat appearance. f

My invention is not limited to the particular constructions illustrated herein as it may be modified in various Ways Without departing from the invention as described and claimed herein.

What I claim is:

1. A cravat holder comprising a flexible member adapted to extend substantially around a portion of a cravat, means for attaching said member to a cravat and means for attaching said member to a garment.

2. A cravat holderfcomprising means adapted to extend substantially around a. portion of a cravat, a portion of said means adapted to underlie a cravat being iiexible and the portion of said means adapted to overlie a cravat being substantially rigid, and means for fastening said exible portion to a garment.

3, AA cravat4 holder comprising means adapted to extend substantially around a portion of a cravat, a portion of said means being iiexible and adapted to underlie a cravat and to be fastened to a garment, and a portion of said means being adapted to overlie the cravat and to be fastened thereto.

4 A cravat holder comprising a pin adapted to be inserted in a cravat, a fastening member for engaging a portion of a garment and a flexpermit it to extend substantially around a portion of. a lcravat.

6. A cravat holder according to claim 4 Wherein the flexible member is connected to the fastening member intermediate the ends thereof.

7. A cravat holder comprising a bar, a iiexible member having its effective ends permanently connected to the bar adjacent the ends thereof and means connected to the flexible member intermediate its effective ends for fastening said flexible member to a garment.

8. A cravat holder according to claim 7, in which the bar has fastening means for fastening it to a cravat.

9. A cravat holder according to claim 7, in which the bar has a pin connected thereto adapted to be inserted in a cravat.

A cravat holder comprising a pin adapted to be inserted in a cravat, a fastening member for engaging a portion of a garment and a nexible member connecting the head of the pin and the fastening member, said flexible member being in tWo portions adapted to pass around opposite sides of a cravat yand being connected to the fastening member at a single point thereof.

l1. A cravat holder comprising a pin adapted to be inserted in a cravat, a fastening member for engaging a portion of a garment and an endless chain connecting the pin and the fastening member and being so disposed that when the device is worn the chain is connected to the pin at the front of the cravat, thence extends around opposite sides of the cravat and is connected to the fastening member at a single point thereof.
