Abstract

The tool uses a specially designed plastic mold that enables the creation of graphics and patterns for personalized hair coloring and designs. This product is specifically focused on replacing the typical method in the hair coloring process in salons and homes, that uses foil sheets. When this device is used with a graphic insert added coloring flexibility is possible, as the design enables the users significantly improved control of the color shades, pattern as a function the user's hair style and texture. For the salon designer, this enables a greater variety of configurations and combinations.

  • DESCRIPTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention [0003]
  • This invention relates to tools for hair coloring and it is specifically focused on replacing the typically used foil sheets in hair color and highlighting in salons and individual in home use. Also, this invention adds more shape, dimension and flexibility in the field of hair coloring that can be offered to the consumer. [0004]
  • 1. The method of using this plastic molded tool for hair color and highlighting can have the benefit of time saved, hazard protection, reusable/economical, and coloring shade flexibility. [0005]
  • Time saved—due to the pre-sized plastic plates versus the time required to prepare (cut & measuring) foil sheets, wrapping. There is a time saved in chemical processing, as well. [0006]
  • Hair protection—the clear plastic allows the stylist to monitor the chemical processing, thus reducing the chance of hair damage as well as improved control of the developing color. [0007]
  • Economical—the reusable plastic plate reduces not only the material cost, but also the related incurred soft expenses. [0008]
  • Coloring Flexibility—because of the nature of the design, customers and hair designers have significantly improved control of the color shade, pattern and texture of their hairstyle. This allows salon designers to offer an improved variety of configurations. [0009]
  • 2. This tool enables the user the option of coloring in a graphic, image, shape or personal identity into the hair coloring. The user can create their own design and integrate it into the hair highlight or coloring. The user will no longer be limited to a straight strand or spots of highlights. [0010]
  • 2.Background of the Invention [0011]
  • It is common and well accepted that individuals often wish to cosmetically maintain the coloring of their hair. Often times these individuals seek to alter the coloring of their hair, by various standardized hair color treatments such as tinting, highlights, bleaching and so on. Most widely used method used in hair coloring utilizes foil wraps. The disadvantages of this method are: 1) longer time to prepare and apply—this causes the chemical processing to be uneven. 2) by using foil the user has to frequently test and monitor the color changes 3) foil is not reusable and the cost can be high in the long run for a salon. This invention can prevent all of these problems, while adding more flexibility in design, as mentioned above.[0012]
  • OPERATION OF INVENTION
  • There are two drawings one is the Applicator (Drawing I) and other are samples of Graphic Design (drawing II). The applicator consists of two pieces of plastic plate. (Approximately 3.5 in by 7 in). These are connected via flexible extensions and an inside interlock track on both sides and a support bar that prevents chemical leaking. In the process of hair coloring, a sheet of plastic will be inserted into the track to cover the hair during the chemical processing. [0013]
  • APPLICATION
  • The plastic plate is held close to the scalp and color is applied to the plate. The hair to be colored is placed on top of the dye area. Then the applicator is closed with side plate and secured with the interlock. During the application the graphic sheet can be insert between plastic and hair to create the individual design. The next layer of dye color is applied to the hair and a new plate is placed on top and interlocked with the original plate. This procedure is repeated throughout the entire design area. [0014]
