  • Not Applicable [0002]
  • DESCRIPTION OF ATTACHED APPENDIX
  • Not Applicable [0003]
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention relates generally to the field of ski accessories and more specifically to a ski carrying strap. Snow ski's traditionally must be carried from a vehicle to the ski slope. Ski's are somewhat heavy and awkward to carry. [0004]
  • Various ski holders have been introduced into the market to help skiers transport ski's. However exiting holders tend to be cumbersome and can not be easily stored in the skier's pocket. Additionally, existing holders do not allow the user to easily carry the ski's using the skier's shoulder as support. Finally, existing holders are hard to adjust to fit a wide variety of ski's and skier's. [0005]
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The primary object of the invention is to provide a ski carrying strap that helps a person carry a pair of ski's while walking to a ski slope or the like. [0006]
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a ski carrying strap that can fit on a variety of sizes and designs of ski's. [0007]
  • Another object of the invention is to provide a ski carrying strap that can easily fit into the user's pocket when not in use. [0008]
  • A further object of the invention is to provide a ski carrying strap that as a padded portion that increases the comfort of a shoulder strap. [0009]
  • Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed. [0010]
  • In accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a ski carrying strap comprising: a rope type strap, a pair of identical retaining clips attached to each end of said strap, and a padded strap cover, said clip having a C shaped rope retaining opening and an aperture for inserting said strap which is then tied in a knot to retain said strap to said clip. [0011]
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The drawings constitute a part of this specification and include exemplary embodiments to the invention, which may be embodied in various forms. It is to be understood that in some instances various aspects of the invention may be shown exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate an understanding of the invention. [0012]
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention. [0013]
  • FIG. 2 is a side view of a person using the present invention. [0014]
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
  • Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner. [0015]
  • Referring now to FIG. 1 we see a perspective view of the ski carrying strap of the [0016] present invention 100. The invention is comprised of a rope type strap 4, a tubular shoulder pad 2, and a pair of retaining clips 6, 12. Each clip 6, 12 is identical and has a C shaped cutout 20,21, and a rope retaining aperture 18. The rope strap 4 is tied to the aperture 18, 19. To secure the strap, the user wraps the rope 4 around the ski pair 8 and inserts the rope 4 into C shaped openings 20, 21. Clamp 6 ends up residing above the boot clamp 30 at location 16 as shown in FIG. 2 and clamp 12 resides below the boot clamp 32 at location 14 as shown in FIG. 2.
  • Referring back to FIG. 1 we see that [0017] shoulder pad 2 is comprised of a tubular member 2 that is made of resilient neoprene or the like. Rope 4 passes through an aperture 10. Aperture 10 is similar in diameter to rope 4 so that padded portion 2 is slidably and frictionally retained on rope strap 4. The user can then adjust the padded portion 2 to the right location with respect to his or her shoulder as shown in FIG. 2.
  • When not in use, the [0018] present invention 100 folds to a compact size that can easily fit into a skier's pocket. Additionally, the present invention 100 can be easily adjusted to fit a wide variety of ski styles and skier size.
  • The [0019] invention 100 is easy and inexpensive to manufacture and therefore can be inexpensively purchased by a skier.
  • While the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form set forth, but on the contrary, it is intended to cover such alternatives, modifications, and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
