Abstract

attachable sitting device buttsy is comprised of a flexible, water-resistant and insulating cushion that is attached to a person's body by means of strings or straps buckled around person's waist or lower back in order to avoid carrying said device.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. FIELD OF INVENTION

This invention relates to sitting devices, particularly to those that are used to sit on outdoors e.g. to watch a sporting event in stadiums, or for use in any other place where regular house furniture is not available.

2. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

People in America love watching sporting events, spending some time outdoors, climbing mountains and exploring caverns. All these activities necessitate sitting on some sort of a surface, i.e. bleachers, grass, ground, ice, mud, etc. Sporting goods stores and other establishments supply the public with different devices to sit on, such as cushions or blankets. These devices come in different sizes, forms, colors and prices. In addition, a variety of types of portable chairs have been invented to satisfy the need for a device to be used outside of their home.

All of the mentioned sitting devices have one disadvantage: they all have to be carried in one's hands to the place where it is used as a means to sit on.

Other drawbacks of the existing sitting devices include the following:

a) when a person gets up from a sitting device in a rainy weather, the device gets wet;

b) when a person needs to leave his/her seat for any purpose, he/she needs to carry the sitting device or leave the device unattended.

c) some of the sitting devices can be bulky and heavy to pack or carry, e.g. portable chairs, blankets, etc.

d) current sitting devices have to be adjusted under a person's buttocks each time the device is used;

3. OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

The following are the objects and advantages of the present patent application of Filza Potapova for the method of attaching a piece of cushioning, water-resistant and insulating sitting device buttsy to the human body to avoid carrying said device in the hands. invention are:

a) to provide said sitting device with attachments that buckle the device around a person's waist or lower back eliminating a need of carrying said sitting device in one's hands.

b) to provide said sitting device that is light-weight and easy to pack.

c) to provide said sitting device which will come in different sizes and shapes to best fit human buttocks.

d) to provide said sitting device which will provide a dry sitting surface when worn on a rainy day.

e) to provide a dry and clean surface for people's buttocks while sitting on wet or muddy surface.

f) to provide said sitting device which will get warm once pressed to human body because of the insulation effect of the material used for this device.

g) to provide said sitting device which will protect humans' lower internal organs from cold-related medical complications.

h) to provide said sitting device which can be worn buckled around a person's lower back while driving to create support for the driver's spine.

i) to provide said sitting device which can have retractable strings or elastic straps that buckle in front.

j) to provide said sitting device which is flexible enough to endure the different sitting pressures of a person's buttocks.

SUMMARY

In accordance with the present invention, attachable sitting device buttsy comprises a flexible, insulating, and water-resistant cushion with secured strings, straps, or similar devices, which buckle around the waist or lower back, thus eliminating a need to carry said device.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION—FIGS. 1A, 1B, and 1C—PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIGS. 1A, 1B & [0038] 1C illustrate the preferred embodiment of the present invention. The demonstrated attachable sitting device buttsy has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. Said sitting device is 9″ in breadth, 8″ in width and ½ ″ in height. Cushion 1 of said sitting device is made of a flexible, water-resistant and insulating material p-cell available from Acor Co., Cleveland, Ohio. Said cushion can be also made of other materials, such as flexible styrofoam, ethafoam, open cell foam and others. Said cushion is inserted into a case, which is sewn out of a water-resistant fabric 6. Said case has four holes 5 for each corner of said sitting device to allow the retractable strings to come out. The plastic containers 2 are inserted and secured in each corner of said cushion. Two retractable strings 3 a and 3 b from the width of the cushion are connected to a piece of a strap 7 to hold the two strings together. Said piece of strap in turn is attached to one side of a buckle 4 (4 a or 4 b).
Attachable sitting device buttsy can also be made with strap-like devices secured corners or sides of said sitting device. [0039]
Attachable sitting device buttsy comprises the same functions without said sewn case made out of water-resistant fabric. In this case, the stings or straps are attached directly to the [0040] cushion 2.

Although the description above contains many specificities, these should not be construed as limiting the scope of the invention but, as merely providing illustrations of some of the presently preferred embodiments of this invention. For example, regular or elastic straps with a buckle can be used instead of the retractable strings to attach the sitting device around person's body. Said cushion of the attachable sitting device can have other shapes, such as circular, trapezoidal, etc. The attachable sitting device can have half-rings in the end of the straps instead of a buckle. Thus the scope of the invention should be determined by the appended claims and their legal equivalents, rather than by the examples given. [0044]

Claims

What I claim as my invention is:

1. I. a method of attaching a sitting device around person's waist or lower back in order to avoid carrying said device in one's hands, comprising:

light-weight, flexible, water-resistant, and insulating cushion, which is attached to a person's body using the methods, comprising:

a. the method of attaching said sitting device with the help of string/strap type of means, one end of which is secured in each corner of said sitting device.

b. the method of attaching said sitting device with the help of retractable strings coiled in a plastic container which is secured in each corner of said device.

c. the method of attaching said sitting device where two strings coming from each corner of said device are connected by a strap.
