Abstract

A decorative finial structure for curtain rods comprises a decoration unit and an assembly unit wherein the decoration unit has a decorative layer of various designs and colors wrapped at the outer surface of a main body thereon, and the assembly unit is made up of a sealing cap with a stop ring and a coupling sleeve with a protrusive ring to be mounted at both ends of the main body of the decoration unit thereby. A fixing rod is adapted at the interior of the main body of the decoration unit and respectively engaged with the sealing cap and the coupling sleeve thereof before a retaining member is securely screwed to the fixing rod extending outwards at the other side of the main body thereof to provide a curtain decorative finial made up of the decoration unit and the assembly unit that are separately made each from the other. Therefore, the curtain decorative finial thereof can achieve variation in style simply by changing the decoration unit individually processed and replaced without the assembly unit being processed or replaced as a whole set therewith, economically saving the cost of mould-casting and replacement thereof. Furthermore, the decorative layer of the main body thereof can also facilitate versatile and limitless stylistic changes of the curtain decorative finial thereof.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates a decorative finial structure for curtain rods, comprising a decoration unit and an assembly unit wherein the decoration unit has a decorative layer of various designs and colors wrapped at the outer surface of a main body thereon, and the assembly unit is made up of a sealing cap and a coupling sleeve to be mounted at both ends of the main body thereby, a fixing rod respectively engaged with the sealing cap and the coupling sleeve thereof, and a retaining member securely screwed up to the fixing rod extending outwards at the other side of the main body thereof to provide a curtain decorative finial thereby; thus, the decoration unit is separately made from the assembly unit so that, for variation of different designs, the curtain decorative finial thereof can simply change the decoration unit without the assembly unit being replaced as a whole set therewith, and the decorative layer fastened at the outer surface of the main body thereof can also facilitate versatile and limitless stylistic changes of the curtain decorative finial thereof.
  • Please refer to FIG. 1. A conventional curtain decorative finial 10 is integrally made up of a decoration section 11 and an assembly section 12 wherein the assembly section 12 is shaped into a tubular sleeve to be mounted to both ends of a curtain rod 20 respectively before a screw 13 is fixedly screwed up to a screw hole 121 of the assembly section 12 to secure the decorative finial 10 onto the curtain rod 20 thereby.
  • There are some drawbacks to such conventional curtain decorative finial 10. First, the decoration section 11 of the decorative finial 10 is integrally made with the assembly section 12 thereof. As a result, to change the design of the decoration section 11, new mould of the decorative finial 10 must be cast as a whole set for the purpose, which is not only uneconomical and inefficient in the production and processing thereof, but also make it rather uncompetitive on the market. Second, for variation of the pattern of the decoration section 11, the decorative finial 10 as a whole set must be replaced with a new one, which makes it rather limited in stylistic changes thereof. Third, once the assembly section 12 of the decorative finial 10 is mounted to the curtain rod 20, a stepwise section of a larger diameter is unevenly exposed at the coupling joint thereof, which tends to mar the smooth surface of the curtain rod 20 and awkwardly destroy the look of the decorative finial 10 as a whole.
  • SUMMARY OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
  • It is, therefore, the primary purpose of the present invention to provide a decorative finial structure for curtain rods, including a decorative finial made up of a decoration unit and an assembly wherein the decoration unit is separately made from the assembly unit so that, for variation of different designs, the curtain decorative finial thereof can simply change the decoration unit individually processed and replaced without the assembly unit being processed or replaced as a whole set, economically saving the cost of mould-casting and replacement thereof as well as facilitating a synchronic processing thereof to achieve standardized mass production for more competitive power on the market.
  • It is, therefore, the second purpose of the present invention to provide a decorative finial structure for curtain rods wherein the assembly unit is made up of a sealing cap and a coupling sleeve having a stop ring and a protrusive ring respectively to precisely abut against both ends of a main body of the decoration unit, and neatly join to the adjacent edge of a decorative layer fastened at the outer surface of the main body and to the outer diameter of a curtain rod so as to form an even spherical surface therewith and keep a smooth rounded appearance with the curtain rod thereby. Besides, the stop ring and the protrusive ring thereof can also isolate and highlight the decorative layer in color and texture to provide a delicate final touch to the look of the curtain decorative finial as a whole.
  • It is, therefore, the third purpose of the present invention to provide a decorative finial structure for curtain rods wherein the decorative layer of various designs fastened at the outer surface of the main body of the decoration unit can also facilitate versatile and limitless stylistic changes of the curtain decorative finial thereof.

  • Please refer to FIG. 2 showing an exploded perspective view of the present invention. The present invention is related to a decorative finial structure for use of curtain rods, comprising a decorative unit 30 and an assembly unit 40 wherein the decorative unit 30 is made up of a hollow and tubular main body 31 with a stop flange 311 disposed at both ends thereof respectively, and a decorative layer 312 of leather and colored (like brown, or black) material that is wrapped and preferably fastened at the outer surface of the tubular main body 31 thereof The assembly unit 40 includes a sealing cap 41, a coupling sleeve 42, a fixing rod 43, and a retaining member 44 wherein the sealing cap 41 and the coupling sleeve 42 thereof are respectively matched to the inner diameter of the main body 31 for mutual engagement therewith. At one side of the sealing cap 41 and at the middle section of the coupling sleeve 42 are respectively disposed a stop ring 411 and a protrusive ring 421 that are correspondingly matched to the outer diameter of the decorative layer 312 and a curtain rod 20 respectively. At the center of the sealing cap 41 and the coupling sleeve 42 are respectively equipped with a screw hole 412 and a coupling hole 422 to mate with the fixing rod 43 thereby. The retaining member 44 is provided with a central thru-hole 441, a polygonal limiting groove 442 defining the other side of the central thru-hole 441 thereof, and a screw nut 443 adapted at the limiting groove 442 therein. The outer periphery of the retaining member 44 is annularly surrounded by a plurality of protrusive resilient ribs 445 that, each having an arcutate guide facet 444 disposed at one end thereof, figures an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the curtain rod 20 thereof.
  • Please refer to FIGS. 3 to 4 inclusive. In assembly, the fixing rod 43 of the assembly unit 40 is correspondingly screwed up to the screw hole 412 of the sealing cap 41. Then, the fixing rod 43 extending outside the sealing cap 41 is mounted to the main body 31 from one side till the stop ring 411 of the sealing cap 41 abuts precisely against the stop flange 311 defining one end of the main body 31, permitting the fixing rod 43 to protrude outwards at the other end of the main body 31 thereof. The coupling hole 422 of the coupling sleeve 42 and the thru-hole 441 of the retaining member 44 are sequentially guided through the fixing rod 43 respectively to mount at the other side of the main body 31 thereof till the protrusive ring 421 of the coupling sleeve 42 abuts accurately against the stop flange 311 defining the other end of the main body 31 thereof The retaining member 44 is then rotated to engage the screw nut 443 adapted at the limiting groove 442 therein with the fixing rod 43 so as to secure tight and locate the retaining member 44, the coupling sleeve 42, and the sealing cap 41 at both ends of the main body 31 to provide a curtain decorative finial thereby. The arcuate guide facets 444 of the retaining member 44 are led along one end of the curtain rod 20 and forced there-into till the protrusive ring 421 of the coupling sleeve 42 abuts against the one end of the curtain rod 20 and the resilient ribs 445 thereof tightly inserted and retained at the inner barrel of the curtain rod 20 therein, permitting the decorative finial thereof to be precisely and stably held in place at both ends of the curtain rod 20 thereby. Therefore, via the decoration unit 30 separately made from the assembly unit 40, the curtain decorative finial thereof can achieve variation in style simply by changing the decoration unit 30 individually processed and replaced without the assembly unit 40 being processed or replaced as a whole set therewith, economically saving the cost of mould-casting and replacement thereof Besides, the decoration unit 30 and the assembly unit 40 can be synchronically processed to facilitate a standardized mass production thereof for more competitive power on the market. Furthermore, the stop ring 411 of the sealing cap 41 and the protrusive ring 421 of the coupling sleeve 42 thereof are precisely abutted against both ends of the main body 31 and evenly joined to the adjacent edge of the decorative layer 312 and the outer diameter of the curtain rod 20 to form a neat and smooth spherical surface therewith. And, in addition to keeping an even and rounded appearance with the curtain rod 20 thereof, the stop ring 411 and the protrusive ring 421 thereof can also isolate and highlight the decorative layer 312 in color and texture to provide a delicate final touch to the look of the curtain decorative finial thereof as a whole.
  • Please refer to FIG. 5 showing another embodiment of the present invention in assembly. The decorative layer 312 of the decoration unit 30 can also be made to spirally wound around the outer surface of the main body 31 to form a unique style of the curtain decorative finial thereof.
