Abstract
A curtain rod assembly includes an inner tube retractably inserted in an outer tube, and a first light source is connected with a first cap on an end of the inner tube. The outer tube has a second cap connected to an end thereof and a second light source is connected to the second cap. A locking sleeve is located between the inner and outer tubes so as to secure the inner tube relative to the outer tube. A first wire extends through the inner tube and connected between the first and second light sources. The second cap is electrically connected with a plug via a second wire so as to provide electric power to activate the first and second light sources.
Description
- (1) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a shower curtain or panel rod assembly which has Light Emitting Diodes connected on two ends thereof.
- (2) Description of the Prior Art
- A conventional shower curtain or panel rod generally is a fixed length metal or wood rod or a retractable tube assembly which can be used in different length. The conventional rod is decorated with color or patterns printed thereon, or decorated with decoration heads on two ends of the rod. Collars are then movably mounted on the rod so as to be connected with the curtain or panel. For customers, there are not too many options for the conventional rods because the decoration patterns or heads on the rods do not attract people's attention when connected with the curtain or panel. During night, the conventional curtain rods do not have their own light source and all the decoration patterns and decoration heads cannot be seen.
- The present invention intends to provide a curtain or panel rod with Light Emitting Diodes connected on two ends thereof, so that the rod can be decorated by the Light Emitting Diodes of different colors in the dark area and the Light Emitting Diodes provide a certain level of illumination feature.
- The present invention relates to a curtain rod assembly that comprises an inner tube having a first cap connected to a first end of the inner tube and a first light source is connected to the first cap. A second cap is connected to a first end of an outer tube and a second end of the inner tube is retractably inserted into a second end of the outer tube. A locking sleeve is connected to the first end of the inner tube and located between the inner and outer tubes so as to secure the inner tube relative to the outer tube. A second light source is connected to the second cap. A first wire extends through the inner tube and is connected between the two respective light sources. The second cap is electrically connected with a plug via a second wire.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show the curtain rod assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 1A is an enlarged drawing of area A inFIG. 1 ; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show the curtain rod assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 shows the parts of the first and second light sources; -
FIG. 4 shows a circuit diagram of each of the first and second light sources; -
FIG. 5 shows that the rod is connected to a wall by support members and collars are mounted on the rod assembly to be connected with a curtain, and -
FIG. 6 shows each of the light sources are connected with a decoration member. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 4 , thecurtain rod assembly 1 of the present invention comprises aninner tube 2 which is retractably inserted into anouter tube 3. Afirst cap 21 is connected to a first end of theinner tube 2 byscrews 211 and afirst light source 22 is connected to thefirst cap 21. - The
outer tube 3 has asecond cap 210 connected to a first end thereof byscrews 211 and a second end of theinner tube 2 is retractably inserted into a second end of theouter tube 3. Alocking sleeve 4 is connected to the first end of theinner tube 2 and located between the inner andouter tubes inner tube 2 relative to theouter tube 3. Theinner tube 2 can be pulled relative to theouter tube 3 to have a desired length before being installed. Asecond light source 220 is connected to thesecond cap 210. Afirst wire 20 extends through theinner tube 2 and is connected between the first andsecond light sources second cap 210 is electrically connected with anadaptor 31 via asecond wire 30 so as to provide electric power to the first andsecond light sources - The
first wire 20 has twoterminal units 212 on the two ends thereof and the first andsecond light sources terminal units 212. Each of the first andsecond light sources resistance 224, atube 225, a threadedconnector 221, aframe 222 and alight bulb 223 such as a Light Emitting Diode connected to theframe 222. It is noted that the number of thelight bulbs 223 can be multiple and the color of thelight bulbs 223 can be different or the same. - As shown in
FIG. 5 , therod assembly 1 is connected to a wall by twosupport members 5 which are fixed on the wall and therod assembly 1 is supported by two respective hook portions of the twosupport members 5.Collars 32 are mounted on therod assembly 1 and the curtain or panel is then connected with thecollars 32. The first andsecond light sources -
FIG. 6 shows that two cage-like decoration members 33 are respectively connected to the first andsecond caps second light sources decoration members 33. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
