Abstract

A leisure lounger includes a rack, a upper mattress and a lower mattress. The lower and upper mattresses straddle the top of the rack in a horizontal manner. The rack has a horizontal pivotal bar running through two lugs on the left side and right side of the bottom of the upper mattress. A lifting unit is provided that has an extensible strut on the top. The extensible strut has a top portion hinged on a yoke located on the bottom of the upper mattress close to the juncture of the upper and lower mattresses. The extensible strut can be retracted to move the upper mattress in a reclined manner, and the lower mattress adjacent to the upper mattress sinks in an inclined manner at a selected angle. Therefore a user can sit on the lower mattress in a reclined manner with the hip retained without slipping forwards.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a liftable lounger and particularly to a lounger that has an upper mattress liftable in a reclined manner to form a slightly downward inclined juncture between the upper mattress and a lower mattress to prevent people's body from slipping forwards.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The conventional movable loungers enable people's body to lie thereon in a reclined manner so that the upper portion of the body can rest on a upper mattress while the lower portion of the body can sit on a lower mattress. Due to lying on the mattress in a flat manner is not convenient for people to do eating, drinking, reading or sunbathing, the movable lounger provides functions different from the ordinary bed. In addition to allow people's body to lie thereon flatly for resting and sleeping, the lounger also is liftable to enable people's body to lie thereon in a reclined manner. Hence the mattress is divided into a upper mattress and a lower mattress. The upper and lower mattresses can be laid on the same horizontal position to hold people's body in a flat manner. The upper mattress is liftable upwards to form a selected angle against the lower mattress so that people's hip can rest on the lower mattress with the legs extending outwards, while the upper portion of the people can rest on the upper mattress in a reclined manner. While the people sits on the lounger in the reclined manner the body weight falls on the lower portion of body, the hip tends to slip forwards along the lower mattress. When the upper mattress is lifted higher people's body tends to slip forwards even further away. As a result, people sitting on the lounger cannot maintain at the still posture very long, and has to move backwards constantly to move the hip to the original position to recline at the most suitable angle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the problem mentioned above, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a leisure lounger that includes a rack, a lower mattress and a upper mattress. The lower mattress and the upper mattress straddle horizontally the top of the rack. The rack has a transverse pivotal bar running through two lugs on the left side and right side of the bottom of the rack, and a lifting unit which has an extensible strut on the top. The extensible strut has a top portion hinged on a yoke which is located on the bottom of the upper mattress close to a juncture of the upper and lower mattresses. When the extensible strut is retracted, the upper mattress is reclined upwards, and the lower mattress close to the juncture with the upper mattress reclines downwards to form an inclined angle directing downwards so that a user who sits on the lower mattress in a reclined manner can have his/her back resting on the upper mattress in the reclined manner with the hip retained to prevent the body from slipping forwards.
The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Please refer to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, the leisure lounger according to the invention includes:
a rack 10 which is designed according to the height of people at a length sufficient to hold people's body in a lying manner and may be rested on a ground floor. It has a transverse pivotal bar 11 on an upper side;
a lower mattress 20 which is elastic and pliable, and located on a lower half portion of the rack 10, and straddles the top side of the rack 10;
an upper mattress 30 which also is elastic and pliable, and located on a upper half portion of the rack 10, and straddles the top side of the rack 10. It is formed at a length smaller than that of the lower mattress 20;
a pair of lugs 31 which are located on a left side and a right side of the bottom of the upper mattress 30, and have respectively an aperture 32 run through by the pivotal bar 11;
a yoke 33 located beneath the upper mattress 30 close to the lower mattress 20 as shown in FIG. 3; and
a lifting unit 40 which is a pressurized cylinder and has an extensible strut 41 on the top driven by a driving source 42 (such as a motor) to extend and retract up and down. It has the top end hinged on the yoke 33.
By means of the construction set forth above, when a user wants to lie flatly on the leisure lounger, referring to FIG. 4A, the extensible strut 41 is extended upwards to push the upper mattress 30 upwards. The aperture 32 rotates about the pivotal bar 11 until the upper mattress 30 straddles the top side of the rack 10 in a horizontal manner. The lower mattress 20 also is moved through the upward pushing of the extensible strut 41 at the same horizontal position with the upper mattress 30. Hence the user can lie thereon flatly.
Referring to FIG. 4B, when the user wants to sit on the lounger in a reclined manner, the upper portion of the body rests on the upper mattress 30 in the reclined manner while the lower portion of the body sits on the lower mattress 20, the extensible strut 41 is retracted downwards. The tail end of the upper mattress 30 is drawn downwards, and the top end of the upper mattress 30 can be moved upwards by hands to enable the aperture 32 to rotate about the pivotal bar 11 so that the upper mattress 30 is gradually lifted upwards in the reclined manner. It is to be noted that when the extensible strut 41 is retracted downwards, the lower mattress 20 also is drawn so that the portion of the lower mattress 20 adjacent to the upper mattress 30 is inclined downwards such that the top surface of the lower mattress 20 sinks slightly lower. Therefore when user's hip sits thereon with the legs extending forwards, the hip is located on a lower elevation than the legs. With user's back resting on the upper mattress 30, user's hip does not slip forwards.
Prototypes of the invention have been made and tested with desired results. The object and expecting functions are fully accomplished. It offers a significant improvement over the conventional loungers.
While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiment of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A leisure lounger, comprising:

a rack which is formed at a length to hold a user's body in a lying manner and has a transverse pivotal bar on a upper side;

a lower mattress which is elastic and pliable and located on a top side of a lower half portion of the rack;

an upper mattress which is connected to the lower mattress and located on an upper half portion of the rack, and has a pair of lugs on the bottom that have respectively an aperture run through by the pivotal bar;

a yoke located on the bottom side of the upper mattress close to the lower mattress; and

a lifting unit which has an extensible strut on the top hinged on the yoke and driven by a driving source to extend outwards and retract inwards.

2. The leisure lounger of claim 1, wherein the lifting unit is a pressurized cylinder.

3. The leisure lounger of claim 1, wherein the upper mattress is formed at a length smaller than that of the lower mattress.
