Abstract

This invention is an accessory intended for use as a convenient way to make textbooks and text markers portable for study purposes. The accessory is a nylon pouch affixed to an elastic strap, with Velcro® closures on each. The accessory can carry multiple text markers and is adjustable for various-sized books.

Description

    APPLICABILITY OF THE INVENTION
  • This invention is intended for use as a practical accessory for study, teaching, computer programming and other occupations which are aided by the use of highlighting/underlining. The invention will provide a convenient way to keep text markers and books together, and can be used with nearly any size textbook.
    • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Traditionally, highlighters and other text markers are kept in a pouch in a book bag or a drawer of a desk. This limits portability if all that is needed is one text and the specific markers used when studying that text. This invention will provide portability.
    • MAKING AND USE OF THE INVENTION
  • The invention consists of a nylon pouch and a length of 1-inch-wide elastic fabric strap. The pouch measures 6″ tall by 1⅝″ wide by ¾″ deep. It is edged with bias tape and has a fold-over flap for closing with a 1″ by ⅜″ Velcro® closure. The pouch has an elastic strap sewn onto the back of it, approximately 1¼″ below the top edge. The strap is 16½″ long and has 3″ of 1-inch-wide Velcro® at the ends. This allows for adjustability and secure closure. The strap will wrap around a textbook as large as 8¾″ by 11¼″ by 2″. The pouch holds two standard-sized highlighters or one highlighter and a pen or other text marker.

Claims (3)

1. An accessory for holding a highlighter or other text marker and a book together, comprised of a nylon pouch affixed to an elastic strap.
2. The accessory of claim 1 utilizes Velcro® closures on both pouch and strap, and is adjustable for different types/numbers of books.
3. The accessory of claim 1 has a pouch spacious enough to hold two text markers.
