Abstract

A garment top includes a chest portion and a first sleeve that extends outwards from the chest portion. A second sleeve extends outwards from the chest portion. At least one pocket is situated on the chest portion. The first pocket includes a first and a second end and is angled such that an opening at the first end is facing out towards one of the first and second sleeve and the second end is lower than the first end.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention generally relates to the field of uniform apparel, and more particularly relates to a garment top and bottom for use in military, law enforcement, and security environments.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Current uniforms for military, law enforcement, and security personnel much time do not provide enough functionality, durability, and comfort needed by the individual wearing the uniform. For example, pockets on the uniform top and/or the uniform bottom may not be positioned to allow for a natural movement to the pocket. Also, many uniform tops and/or bottoms do not provide added protection against abrasion or friction. For example, areas around the shoulders and knees experience a great deal of abrasion and friction during combat or training. Another problem with many current uniform tops and bottoms is that seems are placed at points of irritation such as the shoulders or arm-pit areas.
Therefore a need exists to overcome the problems with the prior art as discussed above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one embodiment a garment top is disclosed. The garment top includes a chest portion and a first sleeve that extends outwards from the chest portion. A second sleeve extending outwards from the chest portion. At least one pocket is situated on the chest portion. The first pocket includes a first and a second end and is angled such that an opening at the first end is facing out towards one of the first and second sleeve and the second end is lower than the first end.
In another embodiment, a garment bottom is disclosed. The garment bottom includes an upper portion that includes at least one of a first upper side pocket, a second upper side pocket, a first front pocket, a second front pocket, a first rear pocket, and a second rear pocket. A middle portion includes at least one of a first reinforced knee section and a second reinforced knee section. A lower portion includes a first tightening member and second tightening member. The upper portion includes a plurality of reinforced stitching layers situated at a middle rear portion of the upper portion. The plurality of reinforced stitching layers are situated at least one of above and at the middle portion and upwards to an area below a waistband creating a circlesque pattern.
One advantage of the various embodiments of the present invention is that a garment top and bottom are provided for use in military, law enforcement, and security environments. In particular, the various embodiments of the present invention provide an advantageous design for a garment top and bottom that includes a plurality of pockets positioned at locations on the garment top and bottom for easy access. For example, the positioning of the pockets provides a more natural movement to and from the pockets. Another advantage of the various embodiments is that seams are situated on the garment top so as to avoid points of irritation. Yet another advantage is that high wear areas on the garment bottoms are provides with a stitch design the increases the durability of the high wear areas.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

As required, detailed embodiments of the present invention are disclosed herein; however, it is to be understood that the disclosed embodiments are merely examples of the invention, which can be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific structural and functional details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but merely as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to variously employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed structure and function. Further, the terms and phrases used herein are not intended to be limiting; but rather, to provide an understandable description of the invention.
The terms “a” or “an”, as used herein, are defined as one or more than one. The term plurality, as used herein, is defined as two or more than two. The term another, as used herein, is defined as at least a second or more. The terms including and/or having, as used herein, are defined as comprising (i.e., open language). The term coupled, as used herein, is defined as connected, although not necessarily directly, and not necessarily mechanically.
Garment Top
FIG. 1 is a front view of a garment top 100 according to one embodiment of the present invention. In particular, FIG. 1 illustrates a garment top 100 that provides improved functionality, durability, and comfort to military, police, and security personnel. The garment top 100, in one embodiment, comprises a blend of natural and synthetic materials such as (but not limited to) a 50/50 ratio of nylon and cotton. However, the garment top 100 can comprise all synthetic or natural materials as well, and can include various areas on the garment top 100 with additional materials as discussed in greater detail below. The length of the garment top can vary, wherein the bottom 101 of the garment top can be situated anywhere from a waist section of an individual to anywhere between the waist and the knees of the individual.
In one embodiment, at least a portion of the material has a pattern applied to it. One example of a pattern that has been shown to be used advantageously with the present invention is described in co-pending patent application entitled “CAMOUFLAGE PATTERN APPLIED TO A SURFACE” with inventors Jason Simione and John Simione, U.S. patent application Ser. No. ______, now [pending] and assigned herewith to Bulldog Equipment, LLC of Hollywood Fla. which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. A variation of this pattern is shown in the design application U.S. patent application Ser. No. 29/303,336, now [pending] and assigned herewith to Bulldog Equipment, LLC of Hollywood Fla. which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety.
The garment top 100, in one embodiment, includes a first chest portion 102 and a second chest portion 104 that cover the chest and abdominal areas of the individual wearing the garment top 100. In one embodiment, the first and second chest portions 102, 104 are separated by a fastening portion 106. The fastening portion 106 couples the first and second chest portions 102, 104 together. The fastening portion 106 can also extend up to a collar 108 for closing the collar 108 around the neck of an individual. However, the collar 108, in another embodiment, includes a separate fastening member (not shown) that allows for a first portion 110 of the collar 108 to be fastened or coupled to a second portion 112 of the collar 108. The collar 108 is configured to close out the elements and to prevent bunching under body armor. The collar 108 can also include areas 113 for placing rank insignias.
The fastening portion 106 can include various types of fasteners such as (but not limited to Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets.
It should be noted that the garment top 100 is not limited to comprising a fastening portion 106. For example, the first and second chest portions 102, 104 can be a single piece without the fastening portion 106 or with a partial fastening portion 202 as shown in FIG. 2. In this embodiment, the garment top 100 is a pull-over type garment.
In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, at least one of the first chest portion 102 and the second chest portion 104 includes one or more chest pockets 114, 116. Each of the chest pockets 114, 116 can be situated at any location on the first and second chest portions 102, 104. In one embodiment, the chest pockets 114, 116 are angled outwards so that an opening (not shown), which is concealed in FIG. 1 by a flap 118, 120, of each of the chest pockets 114, 116 is facing the outer sides 122, 124 of the garment top 100. Having the chest pockets 114, 116 angled in this manner provides the individual wearing the garment top 100 easy access to the pockets 114, 116 and provides a more natural movement to and from the pockets 114, 116. The individual is able to easily remove items from and place items into the chest pockets 114, 116. The opening of each chest pocket 114,116 can be closed or secured by the flap 118, 120 or any other fastening mechanism. The flaps 118, 120 include one or more fasteners (not shown) such as (but not limited to) Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets.
Each of the first and second chest portions 102, 104 can also include one or more areas 126, 128 for placing logos, names, or any other type of indicia. In one embodiment, each of the first and second chest portions 102, 104 also includes an upper portion 130, 132 that extends over the shoulder regions of an individual. These upper portions 130, 132, in one embodiment, comprise removable cushioning material (not shown) for protecting the shoulder of the individual when carrying gear or performing other activities that place weight, friction, and/or pressure on the shoulder areas. This cushioning material (not shown) can placed on the underside (i.e., the side that touches the individual) of the upper portions 130, 132 and/or the outside of the garment top 100. Slots (not shown) can also be situated on the upper portions 130, 132 so that the individual can insert the cushioning material from the outside of the garment top 100. The cushioning material can be easily removed by the individual and can be situated within a pocket on the upper portions 130 or be removably attached to the upper portions 130, 132 via one or more fasteners. In one embodiment, the cushioning material comprises a lightweight mesh material that does not retain heat and has drainage properties.
The garment top 100 also includes a first sleeve 134 and a second sleeve 136 extending outwards from the first and second chest portions 102, 104, respectively. Each sleeve 134, 136 includes a cuff 138, 140 that, similar to the collar 108, closes out the elements. Each cuff 138, 140 includes a fastening member 142, 144 for adjusting the cuff 138, 140 around the wrist/arm of the individual. In one embodiment, the fastening member 142, 144 is not exposed to prevent the fastening member 142, 144 from snagging on other items. One or both of the sleeve 134, 136 also includes one or more smaller pockets 146, 148 near the cuff 138, 140 for retaining small items such as writing instruments, lighting devices, and anything else that can fit within the smaller pockets 146, 148. Another pocket 149 can also be situated on the sleeves 134,136 that includes a flap 151 or other fastening mechanism for closing or securing an opening (not shown) of the pocket 149. The fastening mechanism can include one or more fasteners (not shown) such as (but not limited to) Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets.
In one embodiment, an optional pouch 180 for a communication device and channel 182 to hold a wire exiting by cuff 138 as shown. The wire can be used for a push-to-talk sensor by the hand.
An upper- side portion 150, 152 of each sleeve 138, 140, in one embodiment, includes one or more pockets 154, 156. The pockets 154, 156 can be situated on the upper- side portions 150, 152 of the sleeves 138, 140. These pockets 154, 156, in one embodiment, comprise a breathable fabric such as a fabric mesh 158 situated at one end 159 of the pocket 154, 156. This mesh fabric is breathable and also provides drainage to the pocket 154, 156. The other end 160 of the pocket 158 includes an opening (not shown) for inserting and removing items such as (but not limited to) a bleed control kit. This opening (not shown) is secured/closed via a fastening mechanism such as (but not limited to) a flap 162 that folds over the opening (not shown) and is held securely to the pocket via another fastening member 164. The fastening member 164 can include (but not limited to) Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets.
In one embodiment, the pocket 158 is angled for easily inserting and removing items from the pocket 158. For example, the pocket 158 is angled to allow for a more natural movement of the individual's hand to the pocket 158. In this embodiment, the opening (not shown) is facing the chest portions of the garment top 100.
An upper area 166, 168 of the garment top 100 situated on each sleeve 134, 136 and chest portion 102, 104 that runs from the neck to the shoulders, in one embodiment, comprises a durable material coated with nodules 172. This material provides durability to the garment top 100 in areas of high wear. The upper portion 166, 168 shown in FIG. 1 comprising the material usually comes into contact with an individual's weapon. This material increases abrasion resistance of the top 100 and the nodules 170 help keep the weapon in place and prevent slippage. The durable material can be placed at any area on the garment top 100. This material can also extend over to an upper rear portion 302, 304 of the garment top as shown in FIG. 3.
In one embodiment, the sleeves 134, 136 are attached to the chest portions 102, 104 and rear portion 306 (FIG. 3) of the garment top 100 at areas 172, 174, 308, 310 as shown in FIG. 1 and 3. For example, the sleeves 134, 136 are stitched to the chest portions 102, 104 and rear portion 306 of the garment top 100. In one embodiment, these stitchings are covered with a material on the inside of the garment top 100 to reduce friction experienced between the stitching and the individual's body. In another embodiment, stitching is not used and the sleeves 134, 136 are coupled to the chest portions 102, 104 and rear portion 306 via another fastening method such as adhesive or a by a Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets. The sleeves 134, 136 are not limited to being a separate piece from first and second chest potions 134, 136 and the read portion 306. For example, the sleeves 134, 136, chest portions 102, 104, and rear portion 306 is all one piece of material. Also, the sleeves 134, 136 or portions of the sleeves 134,136 can be removable at various locations (not shown).
FIG. 2 illustrates a front view of a garment top 200 according to another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 illustrates a back view of the garment top of FIGS. 1 and 2. In particular, that garment top 200 of FIGS. 2 and 3 can be configured similar to the garment top 100 of FIG. 1. For example, the garment top 200 can include the cuffs 338, pockets 246, 249, 254 on the sleeves 234, 236, the durable material with nodules 270, and other similar aspects of the garment top 100 discussed above with respect to FIG. 1.
The garment top of FIG. 2 is adapted to be worn in warm weather. For example, the garment top 200 comprises a lightweight material(s) that whisks away moisture from the individual's body. This helps keep the individual cool, dry, and comfortable. The garment top 200 in this embodiment is a pull-over and includes a fastening area 206 with a fastening member 207. The fastening member 207 is coupled to each end 212, 215 of the collar 208 so that the individual can adjust the comfort and fit of the garment top 200 with respect to these areas. As discussed above a fastening member 207 can include (but is not limited to) a Velcro® fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets. The seams 172, 174, 308, 310 where the sleeves 234, 236 are attached to the chest portion 202 and rear portion 306 are situated away from the shoulder and arm-pit areas of the garment top 200. Stated differently, the seams 172, 174, 308, 310 are situated on the garment top 200 on top of the wearer's collar bone so as to avoid any points of irritation. As can be seen in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, the seams 172, 174, 308, 310 angles down towards the bottom 201 of the garment top 200 and avoid any area of high wear and friction. For example, when the individual carries gear such as a back-pack the shoulders and arm-pit areas generally experience extra friction and weight. By moving the seams 172, 174, 308, 310 away from these areas as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the seams 172, 174, 308, 310 do not rub up against these areas of the individuals.
FIG. 3 also illustrates another configuration for the cuffs 338. In this example, the cuffs 338 include one or more extending areas 276, 278 so that vulnerable areas of the hand and wrist are protected. For example, the top of the individual's hand can be covered or at least partially covered by the extending areas 376, 378. These extending areas 376, 378 can also include cushioning material to provide added protected to the wrist and hands. FIG. 3 also illustrates reinforced areas 380, 382 substantially surrounding the elbow areas 384, 386 of the sleeves 234, 236. These reinforced areas 380, 382, in one embodiment, provide durability to the high wear areas of the elbows. In one embodiment, the reinforced areas 380, 382 include a durable material coated with nodules 388 for providing abrasion resistance to the elbow areas 384, 386.
Garment Bottom
FIG. 4 is a front view of a garment bottom 400 (e.g., pants) according to one embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 5 is a back view of the garment bottom 400 of FIG. 4. The garment bottom 400, in one embodiment, comprises one or more materials that are natural and/or synthetic. For example, the garment bottom 400 can be made from a 50/50 ration of nylon and cotton and/or one or more additional materials.
The garment bottom 400 includes an upper portion 402, a middle portion 404, and a bottom portion 406. The front side of the upper portion 402 as shown in FIG. 4 includes a first upper portion 408 and a second upper portion 410. A waistband 412 is situated around the top most portion of the first and second upper portions 408, 410 of the garment bottom 400. In one embodiment, the waist band 412 includes one or more loops 414, 416, 418, 420, 422 for retaining a variety of items. For example, the loops 414 can retain a belt, holsters, sheathings, pouches, or any other items that can attach to or slide between the loops 414. It should be noted that the waistband 412 can also include a stretchable material that provides a more customized fit for the individual.
FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 also show at least a portion below the waistband 412 region comprising an additional material 424 at one or more locations. In one embodiment, this additional material 424 is a molly webbing that provides breathability and drainage. The upper portion 402 of the garment bottom 400 also includes a fastening area 426 that when open allows the individual to easily put the garment bottoms 400 on. When the fastening area 426 is closed the garment bottom 400 fits snuggle on the individual. In one embodiment, the fastening area 426 is situated between the first upper portion 408 and the second upper portion 410 of the garment bottom 400. The fastening area 426 includes one or more fasteners 428 such as (but not limited to) Velcro® Fasteners, buckles, snap-hooks, adjuster bars, slides, cord locks, zipper pulls, and modular buckles having alternative components adaptable to different sizes and configurations, draw-strings, hook and loop fasteners, buttons, and magnets
Each of the first and second upper portions 408, 410 include one or more side front pocket 430, 432. In one embodiment, the first side front pockets 430, 432 comprise an opening that angles inwards. An upper portion 434, 436 of each first side front pocket 430, 432 includes the molly webbing 424 discussed above. A lower edge 436 of each first side front pocket 430, 432 includes the durable material coated with nodules 440 discussed above. In one embodiment, this durable material is situated on the lower edge 436, 438 and upper portions 408, 410 of the garment bottom 400. In another embodiment, the durable material wraps around the lower edge 436, 438 to the inside of the first side pocket 430, 432. The durable material at the first side front pocket 430, 432 helps prevent an item within the first side front pocket 430, 432 from slipping or falling out.
Each of the first and second upper portions and/or a first and second middle portion 444, 446 of the garment bottom 400 include one or more side/ hip pockets 450, 452 that is situated on a side of the garment bottom 400. In one embodiment the side/ hip pocket 450, 452 is angled to allow for a more natural movement of the individual's hand to the side/ hip pocket 450, 452. Each of the side/ hip pockets 450, 452 include an opening (not shown) that is secured/closed by a fastening portion 454, 456. The fastening portion 454, 456 in FIG. 4 and FIG. 5 is shown as a flap comprising one or more fasteners 458, 460. However, it should be noted the side/ hip pockets 450, 452 are not limited to including the flap. The fasteners 458, 460 can include (but are not limited to) buttons, hook and loop fasteners, magnets, and a drawstring. A lower portion 548 of the side/ hip pockets 450, 452 include a breathable fabric such as a fabric mesh 562, 564 that provides drainage to the pockets 450, 452.
In another embodiment, each of the first and second upper portions 408, 410 include a front pocket 466, 468. Each of the front pockets 466, 468 include an opening (not shown) that is secured/closed by a fastening portion 470, 472. The fastening portion 470, 472 is shown as a flap comprising one or more fasteners 474, 476. However, it should be noted that the front pocket 466, 468 are not limited to including the flap. The fasteners 474, 476 can include (but are not limited to) buttons, hook and loop fasteners, magnets, and a drawstring. A lower portion 477 of the front pockets 466, 468 also include a breathable fabric such as the fabric mesh 462 similar to that discussed above.
The first and second middle portions 444, 446 of the bottom garment 400 include reinforced knee sections 478, 480. These sections 478, 480, in one embodiment, comprise the durable material coated with nodules 482 as discussed above. This material provides abrasion resistance to the knee sections 478, 480. The area (not shown) of the knee sections 478, 480 on the inside of the garment bottom 400 can include cushioning material (not shown) that is removable. This cushioning material (not shown) provides protection for the individual's knees. Alternatively, a slot 486 can be situated at the bottom of each knee section 478, 480 on the outside of the garment bottom 400 to allow an individual to insert as much cushioning material as desired. The slot 486 can be closed using any type of fastener.
Each of a first and second lower portion 488, 490 and/or the first and second middle portions 444, 446 can include one or more front and/or side pockets 492. Each side pocket 492 includes an opening (not shown) that is secured/closed by a fastening portion 494. The fastening portion 494 is shown as a flap comprising one or more fasteners 496. However, it should be noted the side pocket 492 is not limited to including the flap. The fasteners 496 can include (but are not limited to) buttons, hook and loop fasteners, magnets, and a drawstring. A lower portion 498 of the side pocket 492 includes a breathable fabric such as the fabric mesh 462 that also provides drainage.
The bottom portion 451 of the garment 400 includes a tightening mechanism 453 that tightens the bottom portion 451 around the ankle of the individual. The tightening mechanism 453 helps keep out the elements and provides a secure fit. In one embodiment, the crotch area 455 includes reinforced stitching to prevent tearing an/or ripping. FIG. 5 illustrates another view of the reinforced stitching 557, 559. As can be seen, one or more layers 557, 559 of reinforced stitching extend from the crotch area 455 upwards towards the waistband 415 in an oval, elliptical, and/or circular pattern. This pattern of stitching increases the durability of the stitch and helps prevent tearing and/or ripping at the crotch area 455. In on embodiment, the reinforced stitching 557, 559 comprises a durable backing material (not shown) on the inside of the garment bottom 400. The rear portion 561, 563 of the first and second upper portions 408, 410 o the garment top 400 also include one or more rear pockets 565, as shown in FIG. 5. The rear pockets 565 include an opening (not shown) for inserting and removing items to/from the pocket 565. The opening (not shown) in one embodiment, is secured by a flap 567 comprising one or more fastening members 569. These fastening members 596 securely attach the flap 567 to the pocket 565.
It should be noted that the locations, configurations, and number of pockets discussed above with respect to the garment tops 100, 200 and garment bottoms 400 are only used as illustrative examples. Pockets and materials can be added and/or removed and include other types of fasteners than what has been discussed above.
Non-Limiting Examples
Although specific embodiments of the invention have been disclosed, those having ordinary skill in the art will understand that changes can be made to the specific embodiments without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. The scope of the invention is not to be restricted, therefore, to the specific embodiments, and it is intended that the appended claims cover any and all such applications, modifications, and embodiments within the scope of the present invention.

Claims

1. A garment top comprising:

a chest portion;

a first sleeve extending outwards from the chest portion;

a second sleeve extending outwards from the chest portion;

at least one pocket situated on the chest portion, wherein the first pocket includes a first and a second end, wherein the pocket is angled such that an opening at the first end is facing out towards one of the first and second sleeve and the second end is lower than the first end.

2. The garment top of claim 1, wherein the chest portion includes a first chest portion and a second chest portion that are separated by a fastening member.

3. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a collar situated at a top portion of the chest portion, wherein the collar includes a first end comprising at least one fastener that fastens the first end of the collar to a second end of the collar.

4. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a first seam coupling the first sleeve to the chest portion and a rear portion of the garment top; and

a second seam coupling the second sleeve to the chest portion and the rear portion of the garment top,

wherein the first seam and the second seam are situated not to sit on top of a wearer's collar bone so as to avoid any points of irritation.

5. The garment top of claim 1, wherein the garment top is one or a pull-over top and a non-pull-over top.

6. The garment top of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first sleeve and the second sleeve includes at least one side pocket, wherein the side pocket includes a first end and a second end, wherein the side pocket is angled such that an opening at the first end is facing upwards towards a shoulder region of the garment top and wherein the second end is facing towards a cuff of the at least one of the first sleeve and the second sleeve.

The garment top of claim 6, wherein the second end of the side pocket includes a mesh fabric that allows for drainage, and wherein the first end includes a flap that substantially covers the opening and includes at least one fastener for fastening the flap to an outer portion of the side pocket.

8. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a durable material coated with nodules that is situated on a top portion of at least one of the first and second sleeves and chest portion.

9. The garment top of claim 8, wherein the top portion includes a removable cushioning material.

10. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a first cuff on a lower portion of the first sleeve; and

a second cuff on a lower portion of the second sleeve,

wherein each of the first cuff and the second cuff includes a fastening member for adjusting the first cuff and the second cuff around each wrist of an individual wearing the garment top.

11. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a first lower pocket and a second lower pocket situated on a lower portion of at least one of the first and second sleeve.

12. The garment top of claim 1, further comprising:

a durable material situated at an area on the first and second sleeves corresponding to an elbow of an individual wearing the garment top, wherein the durable material is coated with nodules.

13. The garment top of claim 1, wherein the garment top comprises at least one of a synthetic and a synthetic material.

14. A garment bottom comprising:

an upper portion including at least one of a first upper side pocket, a second upper side pocket, a first front pocket, a second front pocket, a first rear pocket, and a second rear pocket;

a middle portion including at least one of a first reinforced knee section and a second reinforced knee section; and

a lower portion including a first tightening member and second tightening member, wherein the upper portion includes a plurality of reinforced stitching layers situated at a middle rear portion of the upper portion, wherein the plurality of reinforced stitching layers are situated at least one of above and at the middle portion and upwards to an area below a waistband creating a circlesque pattern.

15. The garment bottom of claim 14, wherein the waistband includes a webbing material.

16. The garment bottom of claim 14, wherein the at least one of the first and second upper side pockets includes a durable material coated with nodules at a lower edge, wherein the durable material extends from the lower edge out to a front portion of the upper portion.

17. The garment bottom of claim 14, wherein at least one of the first front pocket and the second front pocket includes a first end and a second end, wherein the first end includes an opening that faces the waistband and is secured by a flap comprising at least one fastening member, and wherein the second end is at a bottom of the first front pocket and the second front pocket and includes a mesh fabric that provides drainage.

18. The garment bottom of claim 14, wherein the upper portion further includes:

at least one side pocket, wherein the side pocket includes a first and a second end, wherein the side pocket is angled such that an opening at the first end is facing inward towards a middle portion of the waistband and the second end is lower than the first end, wherein the second end includes a mesh fabric that provides drainage.

19. The garment bottom of claim 14, further including:

a fastening area situated substantially in the middle of the upper portion, the fastening area allowing an individual to easily put on and remove the garment bottom,

20. The garment bottom of claim 14, wherein the middle portion further includes:

a closable opening situated below each of the first reinforced knee section and the second reinforced knee section, wherein the closable opening allows for cushioning material to be added underneath each of the first reinforced knee section and the second reinforced knee section.
