    RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • The present application claims benefit of priority from U.S. Provisional Application No. 61/112,243, filed Nov. 7, 2008, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention generally relates to clothing, and more specifically, to individually wrapped underwear.
  • People find themselves in situations where they need a fresh change of underwear.
  • As can be seen, there is a need for underwear that a person could carry and use.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • In one aspect of the present invention, a device includes: a wrapper; a sealed edge on the wrapper; a chamber within the wrapper; and underwear within the chamber.
  • In another aspect of the present invention, a device includes: a plurality of individually wrapped pieces of underwear packaged in a container.
  • In yet another aspect of the present invention, a method for providing underwear to a user includes: providing a wrapper having a chamber; storing underwear in the chamber; sealing an edge of the wrapper; and opening the wrapper so that the underwear may be removed from the chamber and provided to the user.
  • These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

  • FIG. 1 depicts an embodiment of the present invention; and
  • FIG. 2 depicts an embodiment of the present invention, using a heart-shaped wrapper.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
  • The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.
  • Various inventive features are described below that can each be used independently of one another or in combination with other features.
  • Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention generally provides individually wrapped underwear.
  • An embodiment of the invention is underwear, individually packaged in easy-to-open wrappers. The purpose of an embodiment of the invention is to provide consumers with a small, lightweight, portable fresh pair of underwear that can be used whenever or wherever a change of underwear is required or desired. The underwear may be disposable or reusable.
  • To use an embodiment, a user opens the wrapper to gain access to the underwear. The wrapper may immediately be discarded. The underwear is worn and may then be discarded.
  • An embodiment of the invention includes of a pair of fresh underwear that is packaged inside an individual wrappers. It includes two main elements. The first element is the underwear that may be manufactured from natural or man-made fibers. The underwear may be designed in various shapes and sizes. The second element is the wrapper that may be manufactured from natural or man-made materials. The wrapper is made of a sealed edge and a chamber in which the underwear is positioned. The wrapper may contain a tear notch or tear strip that allows for easy opening of the wrapper, or the wrapper may contain a sealing strip that allows for easy opening and closing of the wrapper.
  • In embodiments, the packaged and/or unpackaged underwear may be sanitized with a gas, liquid, or solid sanitizing component, or sanitization may be provided by other methods including, but not limited to, electron beam radiation, gamma irradiation, UV light exposure, washing, bleaching, or steaming.
  • Embodiments of the wrapper may be designed in various shapes and sizes, including round, rectangular, triangular, or other shapes of wrapper.
  • One embodiment of the invention is one piece of underwear wrapped individually in one wrapper. Another embodiment of the invention is multiple, individually wrapped pieces of underwear packaged in a single container. Another embodiment of the invention is multiple pieces of underwear wrapped in one wrapper.
  • As depicted in the embodiment of FIG. 1, an embodiment of the present invention 10 includes a square wrapper 12, made of a sealed edge 14 and a chamber 16 in which the underwear 18 is contained. The wrapper is opened using the tear notch 20.
  • The embodiment 30 depicted in FIG. 2 uses a heart-shaped wrapper 32. The wrapper contains a sealed edge 34 and a chamber 36 in which the underwear 38 is contained. The wrapper is opened using the tear notch 40. Other embodiments may include round, rectangular, triangular, or other shapes of wrapper.
  • It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims (10)

1. A device comprising:
a wrapper;
a sealed edge on the wrapper;
a chamber within the wrapper; and
underwear within the chamber.
2. The device of claim 1, further comprising:
a tear notch on the wrapper;
wherein the tear notch is utilized to open the wrapper.
3. The device of claim 1, further comprising:
a tear strip on the wrapper;
wherein the tear strip is utilized to open the wrapper.
4. The device of claim 1, further comprising:
a sealing strip on the wrapper;
wherein the sealing strip is utilized to open and close the wrapper.
5. The device of claim 1, wherein the underwear is sanitized.
6. The device of claim 1, wherein the underwear is disposable.
7. A method for providing underwear to a user, comprising:
providing a wrapper having a chamber;
storing underwear in the chamber;
sealing an edge of the wrapper; and
opening the wrapper so that the underwear may be removed from the chamber and provided to the user.
8. The method of claim 7 further comprising:
providing a tear notch on the wrapper;
wherein the wrapper is opened using the tear notch.
9. The method of claim 7 further comprising:
providing a sealing strip on the wrapper;
wherein the wrapper is opened or closed using the sealing strip.
10. The method of claim 7 further comprising:
sanitizing the underwear.
