Abstract
The Wrist Wallet/Watch Band is a wallet with attachable timepiece worn about ones wrist. The wallet is made of thin, durable material. It is securely fastened with male and female, hook and loop material. The wrist wallet/watch band is used to conceal money, coins, keys, business cards, appointment notes, receipts, and similar items in one main zippered compartment. The zipper extends to the upper end of the full-length compartment to fit the full length and width of currency. The zipper is double-stitched. The time piece is affixed to the wallet, via four holes on the front, by using the metal attachment pins that connected the watch to its original watch band.

- The invention pertains to wallets worn about ones wrist as a watch band with attachable timepiece.
- The invention relates to the patent U.S. Pat. No. D560,123 S, issued to Bhavnani, which discloses a strap with a watch and a zippered pocket on the front and fastens by hook and loop material. Specific problems with this invention are: (1), the zipper is not firmly secured to the wallet material, by use of a single-stitch pattern; (2), the zipper does not run to the end of the wallet to allow for easy insertion of the full length of money, and (3), the method for attaching the timepiece is not disclosed.
- Furthermore, my invention relates to the U.S. Pat. No. 5,341,972, issued to Jacks. Specific problems with this invention are the multiple folds and layered material makes it bulky, cumbersome, and uncomfortable.
- In addition, my invention is related to patent publication US 2008/0178977 A1, issued to Nauman. Specific problems are: (1), the number of pockets and folds adds to increased discomfort due to the thickness of the wallet; and (2), the method for attaching a metering device is not disclosed.
- The Wrist Wallet/Watch Band is manufactured of material that is folded once to form one main zippered compartment to allow for the full length and width of money. A watch is affixed to the face of the wallet using the watch's original attachment pins. It is securely worn about ones wrist with hook and loop-type fastening material.
- It solves previously existing problems identified in the BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION by increasing the durability of the zipper by using a double-stitch pattern that runs to the end of the wallet. By eliminating separate pockets and multiple folds in the material decreases the bulkiness of the device, and increases comfort to the user. A watch is attached by using the attachment pins from the watch's original wristband via the holes on the face of the wallet material.
-
FIG. 1 depicts the full piece of material used to make the Wrist Wallet/Watch Band. -
FIG. 2 depicts the full piece of material with a slot for the zipper and four holes for attaching a watch. -
FIG. 3 depicts the full piece of material with a zipper double-stitched in position, the male hook and loop material in position stitched along two inner sides, and the female hook and loop material stitched along two inner sides on the opposite side of the material. -
FIG. 4 depicts the front elevation of the completed invention by folding the material in half and stitching the side and both ends to enclose the wallet, which also stitches the outer edges of the male and female hook and loop material in place. The watch is seen attached. -
FIG. 5 depicts the back elevation of invention with the female hook and loop material sewn into position. -
FIG. 6 depicts an exploded view of one of four holes in the material used to affix the watch to the wallet by using the attachment pins that attached the watch to its original watch band. - The invention is a wrist wallet/
watch band 1. The invention is made of one piece ofmaterial 2. A slot is cut out of thematerial 3 to the end of thematerial 4 for azipper 6. Four holes are cut out of thematerial 5 for attaching a watch. Azipper 6 is double-stitched 7 in the place of theslot 3 that was cut out of the material. A male hook andloop fastener 8 is sewn along theinside edges 9 securing it to thewallet material 2. A female hook andloop fastener 10 is sewn along theinside edges 11 securing it to the opposite side of thewallet material 2. The material is folded inhalf 12 and sewn along the side and both ends 13 to attach the male 8 and female 10 hook and loop material to thewallet material 2, which encloses the wrist wallet/watchband 1 to form one main compartment. The compartment is made to accommodate the installation of the full length and width of money. Coins, keys, receipts, business cards, and related items may also be carried. A watch is attached through theholes 5 cut out of thematerial 2 by using theattachment pins 14 that connected the watch to its original wristband. - The invention is distinguished from other inventions by eliminating the bulkiness of multiple layers, folds, and pockets. It contains greater practical application over other similar devices by allowing for the full length and width of money to be inserted and retrieved from the wallet by having a zippered compartment that extends to the end of the wallet, along with the means to attach a watch with its original wristband attachment pins.
- To make the invention, one piece of material is used (
FIG. 1 ). A slot is cut into the material for a zipper and four holes are cut out of the material to attach a timepiece (FIG. 2 ). A zipper is double-stitched in the slot, male hook and loop material is sewn along two inner sides of the front of the material at the bottom end, and the female hook and loop material is sewn along two inner sides at the top end of the material on the opposite side (FIG. 3 ). The wallet is completed by folding it in half and stitching the side and both ends to make one main wallet compartment (FIG. 4 ). By stitching the side and the both ends encloses the wallet, and secures the outer edges of the hook and loop material to the wallet material (FIG. 4 andFIG. 5 ). A watch is attached to the wallet via the four holes on the face of the wallet using the attachment pins that connected the watch to its original wristband (Exploded ViewFIG. 6 ).
Claims (3)
1. The zipper extends to the end of the wallet, longer than the full length of currency, and the compartment is wider than the width of currency to make it easy for a person to insert and withdraw money from the wallet compartment.
2. The zipper is double-stitched to prevent it from disconnecting from the wallet material, to prevent functional failure of the zipper, and to increase the zipper's usability with daily use.
3. A watch is fastened to the front of the wallet via the four holes on the front, by using the watch's attachment pins that connected it to its original wristband.
