Abstract
A safety basketball bat can prevent a broken section of a bat to fly out so a to prevent from dangerous accident. The safety basketball bat comprises: a bat body; a hollow channel penetrates through a top end and a distal end of the bat body; a tube body installed in the hollow channel; one opening at one end of the hollow channel being installed with an inner thread; a stop ring being installed at another opening at another end of the hollow channel; an outer diameter of the stop ring being larger than an outer diameter of the tube body; and a tightening cover with an outer thread engaged with the inner thread for tightening the tube body within the bat body. Or no stop ring is used. Two tightening covers are installed at two ends of the hollow channel.
Description
- The present invention relates to bats, in particular to a safety basketball bat which can prevent a broken section of a bat to fly out so a to prevent from dangerous accident.
- It is often that the bat breaks when the player waves the bat. Possibly, the break section of the bat will beat somebody to induce accidents. Thus there are many designs aimed at improving the above mentioned defects for preventing the broken bat to fly out. In one prior art, a long channel is formed at a slender section of the bat and a rib is received in the channel for enhancing the structure of the bat.
- However in the prior art, the rib in the channel is combined to the channel. Thus the prior art defect cannot be improved effectively.
- Accordingly, the object of the present invention is to provide a safety basketball bat which is made of wood or other material and which can prevent a broken section of a bat to fly out so a to prevent from dangerous accident. The safety basketball bat of the present invention comprises: a bat body; a hollow channel penetrating through a top end and a distal end of the bat body; a tube body installed in the hollow channel; one opening at one end of the hollow channel being installed with an inner thread; a stop ring being installed at another opening at another end of the hollow channel; an outer diameter of the stop ring being larger than an outer diameter of the tube body; and a tightening cover with an outer thread engaged with the inner thread for tightening the tube body within the bat body. Or no stop ring is used. Two tightening covers are installed at two ends of the hollow channel.
- The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.
-
FIG. 1 shows the first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 2 is an assembled schematic view of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view along line 3-3 ofFIG. 2 . -
FIG. 4 is an enlarged cross sectional view showing the top end of the bat in the first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 5 is an enlarged cross sectional view showing the distal end of the bat in the first embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 6 shows the second embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 7 is an assembled schematic view of the present invention. -
FIG. 8 is a cross sectional view along line 8-8 ofFIG. 7 . -
FIG. 9 is an enlarged cross sectional view showing the top end of the bat in the second embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 10 is an enlarged cross sectional view showing the distal end of the bat in the second embodiment of the present invention. - In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be provided in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.
- Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 5 , the safety basketball bat of the present invention is illustrated. The safety basketball bat of the present invention is a wood bat or a bat made of other material. The safety basketball bat of the present invention includes abat body 1. Ahollow channel 11 penetrates through a top end and a distal end of thebat body 1. Atube body 2 is installed in thehollow channel 11. One opening at one end of thehollow channel 11 is installed with aninner thread 21. Astop ring 22 is installed at another opening at another end of thehollow channel 11. An outer diameter of thestop ring 22 is larger than an outer diameter of thetube body 2. Atightening cover 3 with anouter thread 31 is engaged with theinner thread 21 for tightening thetube body 2 within thebat body 1. Thus, when thebat body 1 breaks as thebat body 1 is waved, the break section of thebat body 1 will not fly out so as to achieve the object of safety in playing basketball. - Referring to
FIGS. 6 to 10 , the second embodiment of the present invention is illustrated. Each of two openings at one end of thehollow channel 11 is installed with aninner thread 21. Eachinner thread 21 is engaged with a tighteningcover 3 for tightening thetube body 2 within thebat body 1. Thus, when thebat body 1 breaks as thebat body 1 is waved, the break section of thebat body 1 will not fly out so as to achieve the object of safety in playing basketball. - In
FIGS. 1 to 5 , an outer diameter of thestop ring 22 is larger than an inner diameter of thehollow channel 11. InFIGS. 1 to 10 , an outer diameter of thetube body 2 is equal to or smaller than an inner diameter of thehollow channel 11. Thetube body 2 may be a metal tube body or a non-metal tube body. The inner diameters of thehollow channel 11 are designable for setting the weight distribution of the bat. An outer diameter of the tighteningcover 3 is larger than the inner diameters of the two openings of thehollow channel 11. - Therefore, by the design of the present invention, when the
bat body 1 breaks as thebat body 1 is waved, the break section of thebat body 1 will not fly out so as to achieve the object of safety in playing basketball. - The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
