Abstract
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present disclosure relates to enclosures, and particularly to a computer enclosure.
- 2. Description of Related Art
- Generally, a power supply has an opening at one side of its housing for dissipating heat from the power module into the computer enclosure. However, insects may enter into the computer enclosure from the ventilation hole, and then enter into the housing of the power supply via the opening, which may result in a short circuit in the power module of the power supply.
- Therefore, an improved computer enclosure is desired to overcome the above described shortcoming

FIG. 1 is an exploded, isometric view of a computer enclosure in accordance with an exemplary embodiment. -
FIG. 2 is an enlarged view of the circle portion II ofFIG. 1 . -
FIG. 3 is an assembled, isometric view of the computer enclosure ofFIG. 1 , but only a portion of the computer enclosure is shown for clarity. -
FIG. 4 is similar toFIG. 3 , with the computer enclosure being in another state. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , a computer enclosure includes acasing 10 and apower supply 20 received in thecasing 10. Thecasing 10 includes aback plate 12 and twoside plates 14 perpendicularly connected with two opposite sides, i.e., left and right sides of theback plate 12. Aventilation hole 120 is defined in theback plate 12. Theside plates 14 each include a rectangularmain body 142 and aflange 144 extending perpendicularly from a side of themain body 142. Themain bodies 142 of theside plates 14 are perpendicular to theback plate 12, and theflanges 144 of theside plates 14 are attached to and overlap on the left and right sides of theback plate 12. Then, screws (not shown) are provided to protrude through theback plate 12 and theflanges 144 of theside plates 14 to connect theback plate 12 and theside plates 14 together. - Each of the
side plates 14 forms three mountingportions 146 on theflange 144. The mountingportions 146 each are curved defining agroove 140. The mountingportions 146 are spaced from each other on each of theside plates 14. The mountingportions 146 on oneside plate 14 are aligned with themounting portions 146 on theother side plate 14 correspondingly. That is, there are two mountingportions 146 arranged on theside plates 14 along a same line to form a pair of mounting portions. The mountingportions 146 cooperatively form three pairs of mountingportions 146. Thegrooves 140 of each pair of themounting portions 146 are coaxial with each other. - Two
first cover sheets 18 and asecond cover sheet 19 are provided for covering on theventilation hole 120 of theback plate 12. Thecover sheets first cover sheets 18 and thesecond cover sheet 19 have an elongated, rectangular profile. Thesecond cover sheet 19 defines acutout 190 in a bottom side. Each of thecover sheets shafts shafts portions 146 of theside plates 14 along an extending direction of each of thecover sheet - The
power supply 20 includes ahousing 22, a power module (not shown) and acooling fan 24 received in thehousing 22. Thehousing 22 defines a plurality ofholes 220 in one side. An air outlet of thecooling fan 24 is oriented to theholes 220 such that heat can be taken out from thehousing 22 via theholes 220. Thepower supply 20 forms asocket 26 on thehousing 22 insertable with a plug (not shown). A size of thesocket 26 is substantially the same as thecutout 190 of thesecond cover sheet 19. - In assembly, the
power supply 20 is located in thecasing 10 with theholes 220 of thehousing 22 aligned with theventilation hole 120 of theback plate 12. Therefore, heat can be removed easily from thecasing 10 via theventilation hole 120. Thecover sheets ventilation hole 120, and thecover sheets ventilation hole 120 in a manner such that thecover sheets 18 cover the top of theventilation hole 120 and thecover sheet 19 cover the bottom of theventilation hole 120 of theback plate 12. Thesecond cover sheet 19 is located below thefirst cover sheets 18. Thesocket 26 of thepower supply 20 is positioned corresponding to thecutout 190 of thesecond cover sheet 19; thus thesocket 26 is exposed from thecutout 190 for a plug of an external power. - The
cover sheets back plate 12 of thecasing 10 with theshafts cover sheets grooves 140 of themounting portions 146, respectively, so that thecover sheets back plate 12 of thecasing 10. The threecover sheets back plate 12 in a normal state. When thecover sheets ventilation hole 120 becomes exposed. In this case, the angle between thecover sheets back plate 12 is smaller than an angle of 90 degrees. - Referring to
FIGS. 3 and 4 , when thecooling fan 24 is on, thecooling fan 24 produces airflow to theventilation hole 120, and the airflow pushes thecover sheet shafts back plate 12 of thecasing 10. Thus, theventilation hole 120 becomes exposed. When thecooling fan 24 ceases to work, the bottom sides of thecover sheets ventilation hole 120. Therefore, thecover sheets ventilation hole 120. - It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the disclosure have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the embodiments, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.
