Description

    BACKGROUND
  • 1. Technical Field
  • The present disclosure relates to rack frames, and more particularly to a rack frame having an auxiliary apparatus attached thereon.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • A typical rack frame for supporting servers usually includes two rectangular frames and four support poles connected between the two rectangular frames. Each of the support poles includes a bay for receiving an auxiliary apparatus attached thereon. Conventionally, the auxiliary apparatus is welded on the support pole to be mounted in the bay. However, the auxiliary apparatus is easily broken off from the support pole when the weld is weak.
  • Therefore, there is room for improvement within the art.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Many aspects of the embodiments can be better understood with references to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
  • FIG. 1 is an isometric and exploded view of a rack frame in accordance with one embodiment.
  • FIG. 2 is an isometric view of an auxiliary apparatus of the rack frame of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of the circle III of FIG. 1.
  • FIG. 4 is an assembly view of the rack frame of FIG. 1.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The disclosure is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation in the figures of the accompanying drawings in which like references indicate similar elements. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
  • Referring to FIG. 1, a rack frame in accordance with an embodiment includes a lower frame 30, an upper frame 20 (see FIG. 4), and four support poles 10 connected between the lower frame 30 and an upper frame 20. An auxiliary apparatus 60 is configured to be attached on one of the four support poles 10.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, the auxiliary apparatus 60 includes a mounting member 601. The mounting member 601 includes a first side piece 61 and a second side piece 62 connected to the first side piece 61. The first side piece 61 is perpendicular to the second side piece 62. A plurality of sockets 40 is mounted on mounting member 601. A cable 41 is connected to the sockets 40 for supplying electrical energy to the sockets 40. A strap 50 binds the cable 41. A plurality of plugs 90 is connected to the sockets 40.
  • A plurality of first clasps 613 is formed on the first side piece 61. Each of the first clasps 613 includes a first connection portion 614, connected to the first side piece 61, and a first lock portion 615, connected to the first connection portion 614. A first gap 616 is defined between the first lock portion 615 and the first side piece 61. A plurality of second clasps 623 are located on the second side piece 62. Each of the second clasps 623 includes a second connection portion 624, connected to the second side piece 62, and a second lock portion 625, connected to the second connection portion 624. A second gap 626 is defined between the second lock portion 625 and the second side piece 62. A top portion of the second side piece 62 defines a first securing hole 621 therein.
  • Referring to FIGS. 1 and 3, the support pole 10 includes a first portion 101 and a second portion 102. The first portion 101 includes a first sidewall 103. The second portion 102 includes a second sidewall 104. The first sidewall 103 and the second sidewall 104 surround a receiving space 108 therebetween. The second sidewall 104 defines a second securing hole 109 corresponding to the first securing hole 621. The second sidewall 104 is perpendicular and connected to the first sidewall 103 at a corner. The first sidewall 103 defines a plurality of first engaging slots 11 corresponding to the first clasps 613 of the auxiliary apparatus 60. The second sidewall 104 defines a plurality of second engaging slots 13, corresponding to the second clasps 623 of the auxiliary apparatus 60. The first engaging slot 11 includes a first insert slot 111, adjacent to the corner, and a first recess slot 112 communicating with the first insert slot 111. The length of the first insert slot 111, in a direction along the support pole 10, is larger than that of the first recess slot 112. In one embodiment, the first recess slot 112 is trapezium shaped. The second engaging slot 13 includes a second insert slot 131, adjacent to the corner, and a second recess slot 132 communicating with the second insert slot 131. The length of the second insert slot 131 in a direction along the support pole 10 is larger than that of the second recess slot 132. In one embodiment, the second recess slot 132 is trapezium shaped.
  • In assembly, first, the auxiliary apparatus 60 is placed in the receiving space 108 of the support pole 10. The first clasp 613 of the auxiliary apparatus 60 is inserted in the first insert slot 111 until the first connection portion 614 is located in the first insert slot 111. The first connection portion 614 moves slightly into the first recess slot 112. At this position, the second clasp 623 on the second side piece 62 is aligned with the second insert slot 131. The second clasp 623 is then inserted in the second insert slot 131 and the first clasp 613 simultaneously moves back to the first insert slot 111. At this position, the first sidewall 103 contacts to the first side piece 61 and the second sidewall 104 contacts to the second side piece 62. The auxiliary apparatus 60 then slides down on the support pole 10 until the first lock portion 615 of the first clasp 613 engages an edge of the first insert slot 111 and a second lock portion 625 of the second clasp 623 engages an edge of the second insert slot 131. The edge of the first insert slot 111 is received in the first gap 616. The edge of the second insert slot 131 is received in the second gap 626. At this position, the first securing hole 621 of the auxiliary apparatus 60 is aligned with the second securing hole 109 of the support pole 10. A fastener 91 is secured in the first securing hole 621 and second securing hole 109. Therefore, the auxiliary apparatus 60 is mounted on the support pole 10 of the rack frame.
