Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The present invention relates generally to a golf glove and, more particularly, to a golf glove which has at least one cut portion formed by stitching fabric portions on opposite sides of a cut formed in a finger part in a sawtooth shape, whereby a user can smoothly grasp the grip of a golf club, and in which an elastic sheet is attached to an inner surface of the cut portion which can be formed in various shapes, thus preventing it from slipping.
  • 2. Description of the Related Art
  • Generally, a golf glove is put on one hand of a user which grasps the grip of a golf club to help the user to stably grasp the grip of the golf club when executing a golf swing. When necessary, the user may wear golf gloves on both hands. The golf glove protects the hand and the wrist from impact, such as vibrations, transmitted when the user strikes a golf ball with the golf club. Furthermore, the golf glove increases the frictional force between the hand and the golf club to prevent them from slipping because of water or the like when holding onto the grip of the golf club.
  • A conventional golf glove 1 includes a finger part 2, a back hand part 3, a palm part 4 and an opening 5. The finger part 2 includes a thumb part 21, a forefinger part 22, a middle finger part 23, a ring finger part 24 and a little finger part 25. The back hand part 3 and the palm part 4 are connected to the finger part 2 and cover the back and palm of the hand of a user. The opening 5 is formed by the back hand part 3 and the palm part 4 at a side opposite to the finger part 2 so that the hand is inserted into the opening 5. Further, wrinkled parts 6 made of elastic material are sewed to the back hand part 3. A first elastic sheet 10 is sewed to the back hand part 3 between the thumb part 21 and the forefinger part 22. Second elastic sheets 10 a are sewed to the back hand part 3 at a position that is adjacent to a side of the little finger part 25 and correspond to a joint between the little finger and the back of the hand.
  • The first and second elastic sheets 10 and 10 a are made of elastic materials, such as rubber bands or the like, to minimize the pressure applied to the hand of the user when gripping.
  • In the conventional golf glove 1, when the user who wears the golf glove 1 grasps the grip of the golf club, the wrinkled parts 6 of the back hand part 3 and the first and second elastic sheets 10 and 10 a apply elastic force to the golf glove 1 so that the pressure applied to portions of the golf glove 1 which move a lot because of the motion of the fingers of the user can be minimized.
  • However, the elastic wrinkled parts 6 provided in the golf glove 1 can only solve the problem of pressure being applied to the back of the hand when the user wearing the golf glove grasps the grip of a golf club, but there are no other effects that follow from wearing the golf glove.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Accordingly, the present invention has been made keeping in mind the above problems occurring in the prior art, and an object of the present invention is to provide a golf glove in which the frictional force between it and the grip of a golf club can be increased by various types of cut portions, to the inner surfaces of which elastic sheets are sewed.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a golf glove which is configured in a twisted shape in such a way that a forefinger part and a middle finger part are inclined towards a little finger part, and a ring finger part and a little finger part are inclined towards the forefinger part, thus preventing the shape of the golf glove from deforming, and enhancing a function of closing the fingers when grasping the grip of the golf club.
  • In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a golf glove, including: a finger part, having a thumb part, a forefinger part, a middle finger part, a ring finger part and a little finger part, into which five fingers from a thumb to a little finger of one hand of a user are respectively inserted; a back hand part and a palm part connected to the finger part, the back hand part and the palm part covering a palm and a back of the hand of the user; and an opening defined by the back hand part and the palm part at a side opposite to the finger part so that the hand is inserted into the opening, wherein the finger part has at least one cut portion formed by stitching fabric portions on opposite sides of a cut formed in a bottom of a knuckle portion of the finger part.
  • The cut portion may be formed by cutting off a predetermined portion of the bottom of the knuckle portion of the finger part in a sawtooth shape.
  • The finger part may have a twisted shape in such a way that the forefinger part and the middle finger part are inclined towards the little finger part, and the ring finger part and the little finger part are inclined towards the forefinger part.
  • The cut portion formed in the bottom of the knuckle portion may be formed in at least one shape of ‘−’, ‘⊥’, ‘
    Figure US20130061369A1-20130314-P00001
    ’, ‘+’, ‘|’ and ‘◯’ shapes.
  • Furthermore, an elastic sheet may be sewed to an inner surface of the cut portion.
  • The golf glove may further comprise at least one cut portion formed in the palm part.
  • The cut portion may have a wrinkling line extending in a direction equal to a longitudinal direction of a grip of a golf club when the user grasps the golf club.
  • The cut portion may comprise cut portions formed in two upper knuckle portions of the forefinger part, cut portions formed in three knuckle portions of each of the middle finger part and the ring finger part, and cut portions formed in two lower knuckle portions of the little finger part, so that fingers of the hand are naturally bent in a shape in which the hand grasps the grip.

    Figure US20130061369A1-20130314-P00001
’ (152) and ‘+’, (153) and stitching up horizontal fabric portions disposed on opposite sides of the cut.
  • Further, an elastic sheet 160 is sewed to the inner surface of each cut portion 151, 152, 153.
  • The degree with which the elastic sheet 160 sewed to the inner surface of the cut portion 151, 152, 153 is exposed to the outside is changed depending on the shape of the cut portion 151, 152, 153. As the area of a portion of the elastic sheet 160 that is exposed to the outside increases, the grip is made more stable.
  • FIGS. 9A through 9E are views illustrating various types of cut portions, according to another embodiment of the present invention.
  • As shown in FIGS. 9A through 9E, a ‘⊥’-shaped cut portion 151, a ‘
    Figure US20130061369A1-20130314-P00001
’-shaped cut portion 152, a ‘+’-shaped cut portion 153, a ‘|’-shaped cut portion 154 or an ‘◯’-shaped cut portion 156 may be formed in a central portion of the bottom of a knuckle portion rather than in one side of the bottom of the knuckle portion. Preferably, different types of cut portions may be combined in a single finger or several fingers.
  • In this specification, although ‘−’, ‘⊥’, ‘
    Figure US20130061369A1-20130314-P00002
’, ‘+’, ‘|’ and ‘◯’ shapes are illustrated in embodiments, the present invention is not limited to these shapes, and the cut portion may have other various shapes.
  • FIG. 10 is a view showing a combination between the cut portions formed in one side of the finger part and the cut portions formed in the central portion of the finger part, according to a further embodiment of the present invention.
  • As shown in FIG. 10, the basic cut portions 150 which are horizontally formed in the bottom of the knuckle portions are combined with the ‘+’-shaped cut portions 153 which are formed between the knuckle portions. Thus, the frictional force when taking a grip can be further enhanced.
  • FIG. 11 is a view showing the shape of cut portions which are formed in the palm part and oriented in the directions corresponding to a grip, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • As shown in FIG. 11, two or more lines of palm cut portions 155 which extend in the same direction as does the grip are formed in the palm part 200. One or more perpendicular cut portions may be formed in medial portions of each palm cut portion 155 to enhance the frictional force.
  • FIG. 12 is a view showing various types of cut portions combined in the palm part, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
  • As shown in FIG. 12, various types of cut portions may be combined in the palm part 200.
  • In this case, the area of exposed portions of the elastic sheets 160 that are sewed to the inner surfaces of the cut portions 151, 152, 153, 154 and 156 increases over time, thus enhancing the frictional force between the grip and the hand, thereby enhancing the stability.
  • As mentioned above, the stability of grip can be enhanced by the finger part 100 having the twisted shape and the cut portions 150 formed in the knuckle portions. The elastic sheets 160 are sewed to the inner surface of various types of cut portions 151, 152, 153, 154 and 156. Thus, the area of exposed portions of the elastic sheets 160 increases over time, so that the frictional force between the palm and the grip increases, thus enhancing the stability between them when executing a golf shot.
  • As described above, in a golf glove according to the present invention, frictional force between the golf glove and the grip of a golf club can be increased by various types of cut portions that have elastic sheets sewn on their inner surfaces.
  • Furthermore, the golf glove is configured in a twisted shape in such a way that a forefinger part and a middle finger part are inclined towards a little finger part, and a ring finger part and a little finger part are inclined towards the forefinger part. Thus, the shape of the golf glove can be prevented from deforming. In addition, the present invention enhances the function of closing the fingers when the grip of the golf club is being held.
  • Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
