Description

    CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS
  • This application claims priority to Provisional Patent Application No. 61/759,920, filed on Feb. 1, 2013, and entitled ‘J-Wraps “The Original Mod Wrap”’, the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure is related to an ornamental wrap for electronic cigarettes and a method for wrapping an electronic cigarette. The wrap may include ornamental features such as a design that is selected by a user.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The electronic cigarette, also known as an e-cigarette, personal vaporizer or PV, is an electronic inhaler that vaporizes a liquid solution into an aerosol mist, simulating the act of tobacco smoking. The e-cigarette was introduced in order to aid people in quitting or replacing smoking by introducing nicotine through a harmless vapor.
  • Initial electronic cigarettes were designed so that they had an appearance similar to a traditional cigarette. However, recent designs termed “mods” in the industry feature a generally metallic case in which the components of the electronic cigarette are held. These mods may include features such as the ability to select the voltage being applied to the electronics of the electronic cigarette to produce a desired flavor and/or volume output.
  • These mods may have a precut design provided from the manufacturer, however, many users prefer to customize their mods with a certain design. There has not yet been a product or method developed that allows users the ability to easily customize their mods.
  • A need therefore exists for a method or solution that addresses these disadvantages.
  • SUMMARY
  • This Summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form that are further described below in the Detailed Description of Illustrative Embodiments. This Summary is not intended to identify key features or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used to limit the scope of the claimed subject matter.

  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The foregoing summary, as well as the following detailed description of preferred embodiments, is better understood when read in conjunction with the appended drawings. For the purposes of illustration, there is shown in the drawings exemplary embodiments; however, the presently disclosed invention is not limited to the specific methods and instrumentalities disclosed. In the drawings:
  • FIG. 1 is a top view of a cover and an electronic cigarette assembly according to one or more embodiments disclosed herein;
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a person installing a cover about an electronic cigarette assembly according to one or more embodiments disclosed herein;
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a person installing a cover about an electronic cigarette assembly according to one or more embodiments disclosed herein; and
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a person installing a cover about an electronic cigarette assembly according to one or more embodiments disclosed herein.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The presently disclosed invention is described with specificity to meet statutory requirements. However, the description itself is not intended to limit the scope of this patent. Rather, the inventors have contemplated that the claimed invention might also be embodied in other ways, to include different steps or elements similar to the ones described in this document, in conjunction with other present or future technologies.
  • FIG. 1 illustrates an electronic cigarette assembly 10 according to one or more embodiments disclosed herein. The electronic cigarette assembly 10 may be any “mod” assembly or any other assembly in which components for making an electronic cigarette, a personal vaporizer, or the like is provided. The assembly 10 may include a casing 11 in which components are received therein. The components may include an atomizer, cartridge, battery, and the like, or any other component that may be required. The assembly 10 may include a base cap 12 providing selective access to the components. The base cap 12 may be of varying lengths for accommodating various size batteries or other components.
  • The assembly 10 may include at least one push button 16 for controlling one of the components. For example, the push button 16 may be for varying the voltage applied to the atomizer. A display screen 14 may also be provided that displays, for example, the voltage being applied.
  • The electronic cigarette assembly 10 illustrated throughout the figures is just one example of an electronic cigarette assembly that may be employed, however, the one or more inventions disclosed herein are not limited to any type of electronic cigarette assembly and configuration.
  • A cover 100 may be provided for being applied to the electronic cigarette assembly 10. The cover 100 may also be referred to herein as a wrap, sheath, or any other designation for covering the electronic cigarette assembly 10. The cover 100 includes a sheet 110. The sheet 110 may be provided on a backing 118. The sheet 110 may include an adhesive layer applied to one side thereof for adhering the sheet 110 to the electronic cigarette assembly 10. In one or more embodiments, the sheet 110 includes at least one cutout 116 that generally corresponds in size to one of the at least one push button 16 of the electronic cigarette assembly 10. An opening 114 may also be provided that corresponds to the display 14 of the electronic cigarette assembly 10. The cover 100 may also include a strip 112 that is configured to cover the cap 12 of the cigarette assembly 10. The cover 100 may be provided with improved characteristics as opposed to an exposed electronic cigarette assembly 10 such as, for example, for persons that may be allergic to the metal used for the electronic cigarette assembly 10.
  • Installation of the sheet 110 is illustrated in FIGS. 2 through 4. The sheet 110 is removed from backing 118. The sheet 110 is then positioned proximal the electronic cigarette assembly 10. The sheet 110 is positioned such that one of the opening 14 and/or cutout 16 is proximal a respective display 114 or push button 116. Once the openings 14 and display 114 are aligned, or alternatively, cutout 16 and push button 116 are aligned, a medial portion of the sheet 110 is pressed onto the casing of the electronic cigarette assembly 10 so that the adhesive layer adheres the sheet 110 to the casing of the electronic cigarette assembly 10. Many methods for pressing the adhesive layer onto the casing may be employed, though FIGS. 2 through 4 depict a person's thumb being used to press the adhesive onto the casing. FIG. 3 illustrates one end of sheet 110 being applied before the other end of sheet 110 is finally applied. In an installed state, one end of sheet 110 may be overlapped with the other end. In FIG. 4, strip 112 is shown being installed about base cap 12 in a similar manner to that which sheet 110 is installed about the casing.
  • The one or more sheets disclosed herein may be made from vinyl or any other appropriate material. The sheets are configured for being installed and removed without any residue left behind or damage done to the device. The sheets may be formed from rolls of vinyl that are printed and cut through a platter machine according to one or more templates. Additionally, materials such as carbon fiber vinyl, metallic vinyl, reflective vinyl, and holographic vinyl over laminate vinyl may be employed.
  • While the embodiments have been described in connection with the preferred embodiments of the various figures, it is to be understood that other similar embodiments may be used or modifications and additions may be made to the described embodiment for performing the same function without deviating therefrom. Therefore, the disclosed embodiments should not be limited to any single embodiment, but rather should be construed in breadth and scope in accordance with the appended claims.
