Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE
  • Field of the Disclosure
  • The disclosure relates to sling devices and more particularly pertains to a new sling device for carrying a child.
  • SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE
  • An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a sling that may be worn. The sling may support a child thereby facilitating the child to be carried. A pair of straps is provided and each of the straps is coupled to the sling. Each of the straps may be extended around a user thereby facilitating the sling to be suspended from the user. A pair of couplers is provided and each of the couplers is coupled to an associated one of the pair of straps. Each of the couplers is complementary such that straps are matable.
  • There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
  • The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
  • FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a sling assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 2 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new sling device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
  • As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the sling assembly 10 generally comprises a sling 12 that may be worn. The sling 12 may support a child 14 thereby facilitating the child 14 to be carried. The sling 12 has a bottom wall 16 and a peripheral wall 18 extending upwardly from the bottom wall 16. The peripheral wall 18 has an outer surface 20 and the peripheral wall 18 has a back side 22, a first lateral side 24 and a second lateral side 26. The sling 12 is comprised of a resiliently compressible and deformable material.
  • The bottom wall 16 has a pair of openings 28 extending therethrough. Each of the openings 28 may have one of the child's legs 30 extended therethrough thereby facilitating the child 14 to sit upon the bottom wall 16. The openings 28 are spaced apart from each other. Each of the openings 28 is positioned adjacent to an associated one of the first lateral side 24 and the second lateral side 26. Each of the openings 28 has a bounding edge 31.
  • A pair of pillows 32 is provided. Each of the pillows 32 is coupled to the bottom wall 16. Each of the pillows 32 is coextensive with the bounding edge 31 of an associated one of the openings 28. Thus, each of the pillows 32 may enhance comfort of the child's legs 30 in each of the openings 28.
  • A pair of straps 34 is provided and each of the straps 34 is coupled to the sling 12. Each of the straps 34 may be extended around a user 36 thereby facilitating the sling 12 to be suspended from the user 36. The pair of straps 34 includes a first strap 38 and a second strap 40. The first strap 38 is coupled to the outer surface 20 corresponding to the first lateral side 24. The first strap 38 may be extended along a back 42 of the user 36 and upwardly over a shoulder 44 of the user 36 such that the sling 12 is suspended on a side 46 of the user 36. The first strap 38 has a distal end 48 with respect to the first lateral side 24.
  • The second strap 40 is coupled to the outer surface 20 corresponding to the second lateral side 26. The second strap 40 may be extended along a chest 52 of the user 36 to engage the first strap 38. Thus, the sling 12 is suspended on the user's side 46. The second strap 40 has a distal end 54 with respect to the second lateral side 26.
  • A pair of couplers 56 is provided and each of the couplers 56 is coupled to an associated one of the pair of straps 34. Each of the couplers 56 is complementary such that straps are matable. The pair of couplers 56 includes a first coupler 58 and a second coupler 60. The first coupler 58 is positioned on the distal end 48 of the first strap 38. The second coupler 60 is positioned on the distal end 54 of the second strap 40. Each of the first coupler 58 and the second coupler 60 may comprise a buckle and a clip.
  • A pad 62 is positioned on the first strap 38. The pad 62 is positioned between the first lateral side 24 and the distal end 48 of the first strap 38. Thus, the pad 62 may abut the user's shoulder 44 when the first strap 38 is extended over the user's shoulder 44. The pad 62 may be comprised of a resiliently compressible material.
  • In use, the each of the first strap 38 and the second strap 40 are secured to the user 36 such that the sling 12 is suspended on the user's side 46. The child 14 is positioned in the sling 12 such that the child's legs 30 are extended through the openings 28. The child 14 is seated on the bottom wall 16. The back side 22, the first lateral side 24 and the second lateral side 26 surround the child 14 when the child 14 sits in the sling 12.
  • With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
  • Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
