Description

y 1936- A. B. s. WOBER CASE FOR SAFETY RAZORS Filed Jan. 10
Patented July 14, 1936 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 2,047,450 CASE FOR SAFETY RAZORS Arne Bo Sune Wober, Stockholm, Sweden Application January 10, 1935, Serial No. 1,227
In Sweden November 1'7, 1933 2 Claims.
My invention relates to a case for safety razors and the interior of the said case is provided with cavities, into which the parts of the razor and its accessories may be introduced more or less and be clamped, and the object of my said invention ing loose and without rattling case hitherto.
as has been the The substantial characteristics of the case according to my invention are that the provision of the cavities in the bottom of the at one side of a cavity,
set of blades, there is a secon case is such that which serves to receive a d cavity for the handle of the razor, and that at the other side of the first mentioned cavity cavity for receiving arranged that the said there is a third the cap and guard members, all of the said cavities being so shaped and so parts and accessories are in an upright position, the width of the case becoming small relatively to the height thereof.
My invention is illustrated by embodiment in way of a suitable the accompanying drawing.
Figure 1 shows a vertical cross section of a case according to the invention.
Figure 2 shows a cross section on line II-II of Figure l.
of the case taken Figure 3 shows a vertical cross section of the bottom portion of the case taken on line III-III of Figure 2.
Referring to the which the walls of the cavities drawing reference character I indicates the bottom of the case,
to the inside of are secured, the
said cavities being open at the top, and on to the said bottom a cylindrical casing may be screwed in the manner shown in Figure 1, the said casing forming the top of the case.
As may be seen from Figure 2 of the cavity 3 cular and the the cross section for the handle of the razor is circenter line of the said cavity extends in the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical top portion. When, one end of the handle the cavity 3, the said as shown in Figure l, 4 has been introduced into handle will thus assume a position parallel with the longitudinal direction of the top portion.
Reference character 5 indicates a cavity intended for the cap and guard members 6, 1, which has a vertical groove 8, into which the projections of the cap member 6 are meant to extend. The
said cavity is so constructed that on putting the cap and guard members into the same the projections of the cap member are pressed against the wall of the groove 8, the said. members being jammed and by friction retained in the cavity with their longitudinal axes substantially in vertical position. The retaining of the members 6 and 1 in the cavity may be further guaranteed by a projection (not shown), which extends from 5 the top of the case and is right above and rests against their turned up edges respectively, when the case is closed with its lower end.
In the lower portion of the casing there is further provided a cavity 9, in which a set of 10 blades is meant to be placed and clamped. The cavity 9 is shaped as a vertical groove, one side of which is broken about its vertical center line, so that a wedge 10 is formed, which is meant to press the set of blades against the opposite side 15 wall. As shown in Figure 3, the end walls of the groove shaped cavity diverge upwards so as to make it possible to jam the set of blades in the cavity. In the same manner the side walls of the cavity may diverge upwards so that the distance 20 between the wedge l0 and the opposite side wall is successively reduced downwards.
The cavity 3 for the handle 4 may have cylindrical or conical shape according to the shape of the handle. In the embodiment shown the 25 cavity is cylindrical one end of the handle 4 being conical instead. When the case is closed the other end of the handle is located at and pressed against the upper wall of the top member 2 respectively.
Having new claim as new and Patent is:
1. A two-part safety razor case comprising a one-piece cover, and an integral multi-compart- 35 ment body portion including a centrally located, substantially rectangular chamber for razor blades, said chamber being flanked on both sides by chambers for holding the handle and the top portion of the razor, respectively, the walls of said 4 chambers converging toward the base of the body portion, thus serving to wedge tightly the articles inserted therein.
2. A two-piece safety razor case, comprising in 45 combination a cover made in one piece and a body, likewise made in one piece and having chambers provided directly therein, namely one in the middle for receiving the razor blades and one on either side of the said first chamber for 50 receiving the head of the razor and the handle respectively, the walls of the said chambers diverging upwards so that the parts inserted may be jammed therein.
