The stationary cylinder I3 has a gear wheel and having an end extending beyond the exterior or pinion I8 mounted on the outside surface lend of the stationary cylinder, and a gear rack thereof on a shaft I9, adjacent to and projecting attached thereto, said gear wheel and gear rack cooperating upon reciprocation of the cylinder to operate the pill dispenser, said movable cylinder having opposed slots for the shaft, and said stationary cylinder having a, slot for the gear rack,

2. A dispensing device as in claim 1, the stationary cylinder having lips formed in the upper edge thereof, and a washer supported on the lips, the mouth of the receptacle being supported on the washer.
